everyone has heard about stupid conspiracy theorists who think their government is controlling their brain with radiowaves and so wear tin foil helmets to stop it. turns out a university actually did research into this. heres the study http://people.csail.mit.edu/rahimi/helmet/

Minus the sarcasm, did you really think that that was real, King of Chocobos? tongue.gif

The "centurion" style had me giggling.... but the chef's pride tin foil container in that one pic had me rolling, for some reason. laugh.gif

They're from MIT. They're not burdened by things like girls, or lives. Plenty of free time.

It's true. MIT is also the university where professors attempted to download their brains onto a hard drive, insert it into a robot, and become immortal. Weeeeiiiiird research goes on there.

I disclaim any responsibility for or association with this experiment.

Seriously, though, I am not associated with the MIT Media Lab, despite being in the area, but this is hilarious. They do all sorts of crazy things there.

Edit
For the record though, MIT people have lives, they just have a nerdily-humorous lifestyle. That, and the student population is actually nearly 50% girls.

Oh, and they succeeded on that brain thing before Samus Aran came around.

Actually, I heard that tin actually amplifies the strength of radio signals, so it defeats the purpose of having the tin-foil hat in the first place. I'm not 100% sure about that, of course.

Well, according to the MIT study referenced above, you would be correct! laugh.gif

Metal has a lot of properties and conducting electricity and magnifying radio signals is two of them. Pretty easy way to test this out actually. Just take a Crappy cell phone that gets bad service and put it up next to a stop sign pole. I used to do this back before I replaced my broken phone (well one of them). Also, there may be 50% of girls at MIT but that statistic has nothing to do with the amount or quality of girls that the boys at MIT reel in. laugh.gif

Judging by the quality of paychecks most of those boys will reel in once they graduate, I'd be willing to bet you that they manage to land some fairly hot (though possibly shallow) women.
