I've been trying to grind so I can get to a decent level to tackle the secret dungeons on the advance version. Doing the final dungeon doesn't seem to help as it might get me at most a single level up for everyone (my party is all level 46).

Where is a good spot to grind so that I can get some good experience?

I'm sure you already know that the Castle of Bal's basement is the best place to get ABP (that said, try and get everyone to use the Oracle job enough to get the ABP Up ability - REALLY helps, as does the Cannoneer's EXP Up ability [and unlike Oracle, Cannoneer is actually a job worth using in battle]).

I find that the final part of the Interdimensional Rift (the area right before Exdeath) has some monsters that are tough enough to give you a considerable amount of EXP, but not too tough so that you can't handle them. It also rivals the Castle of Bal as one of the best places to get ABP - it's not uncommon to get as many as 30 ABP per battle. And if you can find and kill a group of Movers, that's 199 ABP right there.

Yeah, I would suggest Movers, but that's ABP, not EXP, so if you're looking for EXP I could only suggest some parts of the final dungeon.

Is Castle Bal available in the third world?

The enemies in the final area of the Rift in the GBA version do not award experience, only ABP. I grinded on Movers and other enemies there for hours and never gained a single point of EXP.

Leave the final area of the Rift to grab EXP from enemies in the forest area, or go to the early rooms of the secret dungeon and Odin the hell out of everything for a while.

Guess I'll switch Krile over to summoner and finish mastering that so I can Odin everything in the secret room.

Don't forget to equip your Summoner with a Gold Hairpin for halved MP costs. If that's not important to you, the Ribbon gives the highest boost in Magic Power. Equipping the Elven Mantle and Black Robe will also give you a boost in Magic Power. Run back to your Sub to rest when you run out, don't waste Gil on Ethers (save it to use !Zeninage).

Which secret dungeon or secret room are you talking about?

Well, I just killed X-Death in FFVA, so I suggest that you farm Iron Giants in the X-Zone castle room, the very last one, right before tania, iirc.

I managed to find a great area to level up, pretty quickly too.

You need at least 2 people with Dual-Wield and Rapid Fire. Give them your strongest weapons without elements on it, so things like Ragnarok and Murakumo are good.

Go into the Sealed Temple and go into the right side doorway. Follow the path until you can keep going up and to the left. Enter the door at the bottom.

In here should be this little imp monster that will constantly appear in battles. When there is 2 of them, they give 6000 EXP. Thats 9000 EXP if you use the Cannoneer's EXP UP ability.

Oh and the reason I said Rapid Fire is because they have really high evasion so regular attacks will most likely miss. I was level 48 and i grew 3 levels in a matter of 10 minutes.
