I was curious, and if you could, would you include why you voted for such an such.

Dark Arts
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
is an ability from the Necromancer class, a new class unlockable in FFV after beating Enou in the Sealed Temple.

Red Magic is up there because of its dual cast ability.

Personally I favor Time magic because who doesn't like messing with the space/time continuum and possibly causing repercussions that could destroy the universe, or at the very least make your lunch explode in the microwave.

Yes it did take me two tries to figure this out pinch.gif

Mine would have to be summoning because usually their animations are awesome. Yes, even the ZSNES ones...

I like white magic because it's handy and sometimes necessary if you don't want to waste your stronger healing items, but I voted for black magic. I just enjoy attacking with magic and plus, Vivi kicks ass! happy.gif

I voted Black Magic for the sole reason that it destroys enemies. I really prefer physical attacks as opposed to magic because you don't have to worry about running out of MP and ethers.

Blue Magic. There's a spell for everything: attack, defense, healing, etc.

Blue Magic for above-mentioned versatility and that it's not something you can just buy in a store like Black, White etc. Finding/learning a Blue magic spell gives one a sense of accomplishment, especially the higher level spells.

I picked Black Magic because it practically destroys every enemy on the battlefield with flashy effects. My favorites include Blizzaga, Flare, and Meteor. sleep.gif

Well, my favorite is usually Blue Magic, but White Magic is almost always the best / most necessary. I've yet to unlock Dark Magic in FF V Advance, so I don't really have an opinion yet.

Yep working on getting the necromancer now, sad.gif had to restart the dungeon when I didn't save and found a room full of omega's blink.gif .

I hope their aren't any chests with super bosses though I am a little worried blink.gif found a section called Shinryus Roost

Edit
Am I the only one who likes messing with the time/space continuum?

Haven't got Dark Arts yet. So I'm not sure about that one.

I prefer SpellBlade\Magic Sword, eversince after I used Mystic Knights to cast Osmose Blade on the Dark Elementals that heals Grand Aevis with White Wind. I must say, This magic type is really dangerous. I remember not too far off also using them to kill Carbunkle in FF5 with Ice 3 Sword. Insta-kill. So my vote goes for SpellBlade.

Blue Magic. You can copy other monsters and people's moves and there's always some kind of spell for everything!

So far Black magic is most popular

I wonder if dark arts will get any votes

(Is it that time again Dr. Freeman?)

Edit
Thank you NeoEx-Death, There are some of those dark elementals in the bonus dungeon (FFV) and I was having so much trouble with em. wooh now I know how to beat em

Btw, Sephiroth_the_Dark, Vivi cannot use Ultima and is an unclassifiable spell in IX. Although, in X, it is Black Magic(if a character has learned it, it appears under Black Magic). In various Final Fantasies, Ultima is most likely placed under Black Magic(I believe II is the exception, where Ultima is White Magic... I could be wrong, though...)

I vote for white magic. I'd always rather be able to heal magically than kill. Besides, with the old-school delineations, white magic encompassed spells like haste and protect. Give me a hasted tank over a weeny black mage any day of the week.

Goo Summoning i love watching those Animations although some take forever pinch.gif (Ark,KOR) my second vote would of been White since i use it so much. In any final fantasy party there always has to be a healer i say.

white magic all the way, healing the whole party in one action without using precious items is crucial in a tough boss battle save those megalixers for the end! summons are good too in some games it depends

As important it is to have a healer in your group, I've always had a love for Black Magic. Maybe it's because of Vivi... wub.gif

And spellsword locks up second place with white magic! I gotta go with spellsword/mage blade/ magic sword...it just combines the best of both worlds for me, that and Steiner + Vivi = awesomeness personified. Oh,and did I mention how much a$$ Beowulf kicks in Tactics? Orlandu..Mage Knights...GAH!

Blue Magic, no question. It's extremely versatile with healing, defense, support, and attacking techniques. There's none better.

Red Magic is second place because it's both White and Black magic. Versatile, yet limited.

Blue magic, for versatility, and for the fact that I enjoy learning by observation.

And what's Dark Arts? Necromancy?

It kinda' looks like a FFV magic pole, given it includes Dark Arts and Spellblade magic, yet not many of the other magic off-shoots of the series, but I'll try to give my answer spanning the whole series. I'll point out now I went for Blue though. =P

Black Magic: Very good at the start, good in the middle, near useless at the end. My basic feelings on BM there.

White Magic: Essential throughout the game, no questions asked. Holy can kinda' replace any black magic spell, and generally costs less, but it wastes a heallers MP. =P

Red Magic: Good at the start of the game, and that's about it. It cuts off about one level too soon for me.

Blue Magic: Somewhat of the odd child... in some games, damn awesome, in others, pretty lame. But no-one can overlook the usefulness of Mighty Guard!

Time Magic: About all it's really good for is Haste. If its also been lumbered with space magic (it usually is) the attacks aren't all that, dealing random damage...

Summon Magic: A nice kinda' hyper-magic, but not always the most versatile. I tend to ignore it to save precious MPs. Mmmm... MPs...

Dark Arts: These spells were made to be unbalanced and overpowerful, but, do I really need them once I get them? No. No I do not. There's nothing else left to do.

Spellblade: Good if you have an enemy (boss) with a certain weakness, goes VERY well with Rapid Fire. Crotch-explodingly well.
