Just a question. Have you got the urge to play through Final Fantasy 7 again? Like you want to relive a scene or kill a dude again, because its fun, or you just feel like "saving the world" once again?! lol.

I'm not too sure if I want to. Since I'm used to the 2d Final Fantasy era, FF7, FF8, and FF9 would now just bore me because of the uber long scenes and FMVs. I don't really have that much patience anymore for the PlayStation FFs anymore (Except for FF Tactics, which I might play sometime. I left it for a loooong time.)

I played it twice, and am still in a solo challenge, but it unfortunately isn't one of the ones with great replay value. It's a shame.

Yes I could play FFVII again. Yet I would have no fun at all since I already completed the it 3-4 times. I might as well sell my game or give it away because the last time I touched it was to make my Lucky 7s FAQ.
And on the ~20 games that I played on the PSX, that one is not in the top ten. Well at least it's over FFVIII's place. -------------------- Sayonara |

I haven't played it in a long while, but I felt the urge to re-play it jus' for old times' sake after I saw AC for the first time. I'm currently at the part where you just received the buggy.

I get the urge to play through a lot of games; for FF7, it's due to the musical experience rathern than plot intrigue or battling. I haven't finished the script I've been typing on it, so I've been deliberately avoiding all thoughts of taking it back up until I've the time. No sense cheating on myself with myself.

Maybe. I haven't played in a while, but I don't have a PS or the game right now, and I want a Wii, so unless I emulate it or play on another person's console, that won't be for a while.

I haven't gotten through the game even once yet, but I doubt I'll be entertained enough by FFVII to replay it anytime soon after I finish a first playthrough.
So far, the only RPG I have played to completion more than once is Super Mairo RPG. Not even Pokémon. Not even FFVI, despite i90east's expert versions. Not even Chrono Trigger, unless you count early endings via New Game +. I feel that the game often progresses too slowly for my liking. Battle sequences are entered, animated, and ended too slowly, and the fact that cutscenes aren't skippable is something I dislike. Additionally, the materia system presents a huge temptation to powerlevel, and the minigames feel more for-the-sake-of-a-cool-feature than actually-coherent-to-the-game. Third, the way random battles are presented feels kinda strange--i.e., walking around a very realistic-looking world but then running into strange swirlings into battles every few steps where there appears to be nothing. Additionally, I don't have a way to turbo the game. With SNES and GB/GBA games, I can use a turbo button to speed through things I don't like to wait through when I play them on emulator. Neither the PC version nor PS emulators have such a feature I'm aware of. It's just a wierd or just me? I have just recently, before I saw the forum, picked up my FFVII and started playing it. I don't have any reason why, probably just bored and needed something to do when i'm not working or cleaning the house. I am at the part where your in the Temple of the Ancients. Not bad game, just wish it had some better graphics. Oh, and especially not bad for the first try at a 3-D game.

It's like many other games I have played I guess. It sounds good at the moment, but when you start playing you realize how you have already done it 8 times before.

I think i voted yes but surprisingly, no, not really. I think after you've tried getting to level 100, the fun sort of drains out of it as you forget the most memorable bits.
Maybe if i just force myself to start it over once more, i'll be converted back to it? ![]() |

I think I've played through it about 8 times. So it will be quite a few years before I consider playing it again. Hopefully they will have remade it by then.

Every year since it caeme out I play it once. I already did this year back in April, I always tend to play old RPG's whenever I'm on the waiting period of a new one. I guess until next year, or maybe not, there will be no FF7 for me again, damn it I'm poisoning my head, now I wanna play it, but wait, no what is this I just found...

Yeah I must confess I adore playing it through - 8 or 9 times... But now that I've FINALLY got my hands on Xenogears and FFT, I'm going to complete them first.

I always like to play games through more than once, because then I'll find things that I missed the first time, or make different parties and see what the characters that I didn't use the first time say to situations. I don't own FFVII, but I would love to play it again because there are certain parts that I could watch again and again.

FFVII...what can I say to you? I don't feel like we share that 'connection' anymore ya know? Like..we've grown apart. I mean, yeah we've had our good times, but in the long run we've had more bad than good. I just feel like we are in two different places right now and that maybe we should take some time to get focused. Oh..don't cry, just...it's not 'goodbye' it's more like..'later'.

It was an awesome game, I have to admit, and it ranks up there in my top ten games, along with Final Fantasy Tactics, but to play it again, a second time... I guess that the only reason I might would be to try to get EVERYTHING in the game, ya know, beat all the Weapons, collect all the Materia, and get all the Limits, and master the whole Chocobo feature, but other than that no... I mean, maybe if I get that occasional jolt of inspiration after watching Advent Children, then ya, maybe, but other than those reasons, I wouldn't really consider it.

I just started playing it again in September and just every little thing in the game makes me feel warm inside. This was the game that got me into RPG's so I will always cherish it but now that I have played every other FF game, I can see how flawed it is.
I got somewhere halfway on disc 2 and I wanted to start raising a gold chocobo and I was suddenly reminded what a pain that was. So now I'm playing FFIX for the 5th time (my favourite) on a lvl 1 challenge ![]() |

I did for a while. Then I looked at a walkthrough and thought "Oh good god, I'll have to go through that flashback, Junon and Costa Del Sol". So yeah, I changed my mind.
I do like FF7, but it has a habit of just... rambling. And it's less than enjoyable. |

I do. Recently it came up in a conversation that I'd never actually beaten Emerald and Ruby. So we fired up my old saves, and then discovered that the ones I'd kept definitely didn't have the kinds of levels I'd need... we played a bit to get some materia leveled up and find items I needed, and then I tried to do it. I said hi to Emerald. Emerald said "good night!" to me.
During all that, I remembered the immersive atmosphere of the game. It's a place you can really sink into... I wouldn't mind playing again. It's been many years; it's about time to revisit that place. -------------------- - Sagiri - "It is difficult to find happiness within oneself, and impossible to find it anywhere else." :) |
