I remember not too, too long ago there was a thread about the best clothes in FF. I ran a search and found no fairly recent threads about the worst. And trust me, there needs to be a thread about the worst fashion (clothes, hair, etc.). You've got Garnet and her orange overalls, Cid Pollendina's beard, Amarant's gigantic dreadlocks and, as much as it pains me to say, Vincent's shoes.

So, what do you think are the worst fashion crimes ever committed in FF?

Vincent's banana shoes are my personal favourites in the fashion disaster department. Kuja's outfit (or lack there of) isn't that great either. The speedo turns me off. I'm pretty sure there are others but I just can't think of them right off hand.

Well, at the moment, I'd have to say virtually everything Nomura has designed. It's meant to look nice and cool, but the prat throws chains and belts all over the place. Reality check: these snag on things. Not the best attire for a fighter.

Looking cool is secondary IMO, practical is first.

SOME of Nomura's designs actually were good (his Barret, Red XIII, Cid, and Wakka designs namely). But none of them compare to Amano's. -CSM

The progression just insulted me in a way that is unmatched. No amount of color-clashing or fruit-shaped footware can compare to the change in fashion from one game to the next.

Kefka's in his clown suit is a walking fashion disaster, but he's meant to be that way...

I also strongly agree with Elessar's point on Yuuna...
Otherwise, nothing so far unmentioned comes to mind.

Here's what comes to my mind: What is Cid wearing in FF6? It looks like a yellow rubber raincoat. Maybe someone can explain it to me.

I really disliked Zidane's outfit, I appreciate it suited his character, with him being a thief and all but it was just not cool, not smart and probably made it even more difficult to impress Garnet.

Lulu's (FFX) dress made up entirely of leather belts and straps.

Yes, it was hot. Yes, she had pixelated cleavage goodness. And Yes, it still somehow looked silly.

I think it's some sort of lab technician radiation suit or something. He works in a lab with Espers. *shrug.

I forgot to mention Blank from FFIX in my original post. He wears a belt over his eyes and what appear to be shorts so short that he could compete with Kuja for the skankiest male on Gaia.

I've thought of some more! Freya looks like she's wearing a red cone, Cinna's gut is hanging out of his outfit. Actually, I think it's safe to say that most of the people in Tantalus need to go on What Not To Wear (except Zidane, I don't mind his get-up).

Nooj from FF X-2... what the hell were they thinking with that character design?

Despite that, it always ends up looking like a banana to me... *heh-heh* ^^;

Tidus' pants always made me laugh.

I think that Tidus had silly clothes, and all the alchemist dreshperes were stupid in 10-2

Yeah, they look like Amelia Earheart clones in their Alchemist dressspheres, haha... Setzer's purple outfit totally blew in Kingdom Hearts II(if that counts) as well as Seifer's. I don't even want to comment on Seifer's because it's so horrible...

I have one word for Seifer's outfit in KH2, and I apologize to anyone who might be offended by it: wigger.

Personally, while I liked Lulu's look in FFX, Tidus made me cringe. The style suited his character, but I wouldn't touch that style of clothing with a ten foot pole (somehow, it seemed far more in-place when on the child version of Tidus in the original KH).

FF6 Cid's "raincoat", Cid Pollendina's beard, Amarant's hair.

Man, oh, man, they ruined Tidus... and there wasn't much there to begin with... Hopefully, if we see more of Wakka and Tidus, they will have redesigned outfits... I hope Setzer doesn't make a reappearance because they purple garb he wore made me somewhat sick... I think it would've been better if they didn't put Setzer in it at all...

Btw, Suunok... I couldn't have put it in any better way... laugh.gif
