Wasn’t really sure where to post this, but since it’s an FFIII topic I decided it goes here.
Basically, I really can’t be bothered waiting X months for FFIII DS to come out in Oz, so I’ve been thinking of importing it from the US. However, I’ve also heard that importing will prevent me from using the Wi-Fi feature, which will in turn prevent me from gaining FEOKs. Obviously, this is a pretty massive problem, so I was wondering how true this is and, if so, is there any way around it? Any answer is appreciated. -------------------- |

I've got both the US and the Japanese version of FFIII DS. Using the English version (which I bought imported) I haven't had any trouble using WiFi to mognet my friends mail in the US, and vice versa. Mognet sometimes wigs out and is kinda flakey, but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with games being incompatible.
What I haven't tried, however, is trying to get the Japanese version to talk to the English version. That's where I think there might be problems. As long as both friends are using the English (US) version, there shouldn't be a problem. This post has been edited by Kurohime on 3rd December 2006 12:57 |

As long as both friends are using the English (US) version, there shouldn't be a problem. That's the key there. DSes are region-neutral, but games aren't. NTSC games can communicate with other NTSC games, but NTSC games can't communicate with PAL games or JP games. You'd need to have email pen pals in the US or Canada to get those features to work properly. -------------------- |
