i saw a site for it and it showed mario,link,pika,kirby,and the new chacters...and thats all...so does that mean characters like zelda and peach wont be in there?

Havent been announced yet, Sakurai (The lead guy on this) is taking his sweet time on it and wont be releasing anything notewrothy for a while, so its just a waiting game.

As far as I know, and as was reflected on the Wikipedia article for Super Smash Bros. Brawl the last time I checked it (which is as I'm writing this post), the only confirmed characters other than Fox are the ones in that famous trailer.

Fox appears to have been added recently.

I've read somewhere that if not confirmed publicly, then there is no confirmation at all that any character will be returning. However, you can probably bet that some of them will almost definitely be there--Zelda, Captain Falcon, Luigi, etc.. However, word still has yet to come out whether slightly less prominent characters--such as Marth, Roy, Ice Climbers, and Mr. Game & Watch will return.

I seriously hope G&W and IC will return. I'm kinda good with G&W, and I'd really like to learn how to play IC simply because they've been described as particularly difficult to master but extremely powerful if used skillfully.

There's this ytmnd here which has an insanely huge selection of characters--no Simon, Julius, Richter, Soma, or Alucard, but still an impressive list nonetheless. Includes K. Rool, which I like, and will probably learn to play purely because he's K. Rool. Also includes Ridley, which I don't like, but whatever. I don't know where the picture came from. Then again, there are five million "Newcomer" YTMND sites, and there have been ever since Snake was announced...

But who can afford to neglect The Most Quintessential Character Ever.

I could have sworn characters like Ridley and Bowser's son had been confirmed. And G&W and IC were confirmed to not be returning.

Admittedly, that's an article discussing the trailer that Gametrailers.com recorded. Still, it makes some important notes.

Snake is substantially less badass than I expected. It's a shame... as well, Pit and Meta-Knight seem disgustingly unbalanced, but looks are deceiving. The graphical updates seem... poor though. Aside from a new generation of characters and stages, I do hope they actually add something to give it more than the expansion pack feel it has right now.

They have updated the fight engine. Crawling characters and lots more aerials... but again, colour me unimpressed.

Cloud, I hope you meant he was overpowered, and not underpowered because he fell fast. Shine = TOO GOOD!

I'm really looking forward to this game. I have been playing SSBM competitively for almost a year now, and I'm finally starting to place in tournies. I really don't care how this game turns out, as long as they leave wavedashing and other advanced tactics in it. Seriously, I can't even move without wavedashing anymore, so if they got rid of it, I might die.

I love the video, Elessar. I really hope that that is the real engine now, instead of just the old one again. I thinkk the graphics are improved and the entire game itself just seems better. It's hard to explain, but I got giddy watching it.

Just a few things I hope they fix:

• Chain grabbing- this would eliminate the cheap Sheik/Mewtwo players who know ONLY how to CG (I know there are good, legit Sheik/Mewtwo players out there like Isai and Mow, but it's so lame getting shafted like that just because you chose Bowser).
• Shine cancelling. Seriously, jump cancelling shines made Fox absolutely godly. Waveshining isn't hard at all, and gives Fox unavoidable infinites against some characters, regardless of DI. To make matters worse, Fox can do the shield breaker, where he can shine like 6 times per second and break the shield before you have a chance to roll or lower it. It's not impossible, because even I can do it, and I main Mario. Bah. Just bring it back to the way it was in SSB64 and I'll be happy.
• Those are really the only big ones for me. There are other unrealistic things like "OMG MAKE BOWSER LESS LAGGY AND MORE POWERFUL!!!11" that would kinda make some characters more broken, but if those two things were fixed, I'd be really happy.

So yea, I really cannot wait for this to come out already. As long as they keep my Mario abd Bowser (from what I hear, only IC, young link, and G&W are getting axed), and maybe add a few new characters for me to play with (aside from those in the trailer, I remember hearing about ridley, celda, and bowser jr?!), I'll be happy. But I swear, if they somehow find a way to make the shine easier to cancel or make Fox even more godly, I'm going to be really upset.

well let's just say it was bad for me
i don't own SSBM so all my play is learned that day and than somewhat relearned.
i manage to stay good with Marth somehow, but every other character I'm good with takes some practice

I played one guy who was really good with fox, and let's just say he kicked my ass.
at least it was with a time limit, so i started to make somewhat of a comeback and outdid the other two, but he had at least 12 KO's against me(in under a minute) and I had one against him.

If it wasn't for my disco moves(really give marth the white outfit and it reminds me of disco) I would have probably done worse, maybe if I actually had some true experience I could have beat that guy, but man did it piss me off.
