Ok, I'm towards the end of the game, and I sorta skated along with low level characters that know just about every magic spell out there... But, I guess that in the Floating Continent you can't really do that because you need a ton of items and a pretty high level, I've heard that the recommended level is 27???
But, I'm just about there, I beat Ultros and that pink guy, and that weird machine thing after that... But now I can't seem to get anywhere in this place. I can get through most of the level, but can't seem to get through to Atma before some powerful monster comes and kills me... Does anyone know anyplace where I can level up fast not Magic Points, EXP, my current levels are... Locke - Level 21 Terra - Level 20 Mog - Level 24 Shadow - I think level 22? Quote Does anyone know anyplace where I can level up fast not Magic Points, EXP I'm pretty sure that your not a beginner at the game, you you wouldn't have the levels you have now. I say your at a higher level than you need to be. Are you going for a LLG? If not, I suggest going to the end (running away from most monsters) and getting of the Floating Continent. Go somewhere on the world map (Near Ghestal's Empire/somewhere) and level up there. I say that your doing fine, though. There are people you have beat the game without gaining a single level with each character. All it takes is a little strategy! Try some reflect rings to reflect the magic of the monsters. About 80% of the time, you will encounter magic users and most likely they will use their magic. Also, immediately use phoenix downs/life spell on anyone who has died (don't take the risk and not). Everyone has different strategies of thier own, just givin' you one of them. Good luck! ![]() -------------------- Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Chrsit for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost Acts 4:12 Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost |

You really don't need to level up.
relflect rings stated above, I also believe you can learn reflect in WoB It's sad that you're not using one of the twins, they're rather useful in WoB both Sabin and Edgar can abuse the back row abuse the back row: A character in an ff game tha can deal the same amount of damage from the back row with an attack besides magic. and what's great about the back row is, you'll no longer have to worry about any physical damage. also I believe it's easier to escape from battle if you use the back row, but I'm not sure about that. i don't have any real proof. and if you really want to level up, Back when I was young and didn't know any strategy I leveled up in the cave where the espers hid, the last room with the three pits. and always ignore recommended levels, that's a state of opinion. if I wrote anf FFVI guide I'd say 18 for the floating continent, forces beginners to develop strategy.(see, an opinion) This post has been edited by Cloud_Strife510 on 29th October 2006 17:42 -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

Oh no, your levels are just fine. Those are usually what levels I'm at by that time.
In addition, several of the FC's monsters can be killed by Revivifies and Phoenix Downs. ![]() If you need Magic Points, either train on the Floating Continent, or go to the Triangle Island and cast Doom on the Intagnirs there, though the FC would give you more constant Magic Points and be a beter choice. I know Lock has two boomerang weapons that he can use from the back row, and most of Shadow's damage will come from Shurikens, so that's two people you can use in the back row. -------------------- |

Every time I've beaten the Floating Continent, all of my characters were around LV 25-ish, maybe a bit higher. Anyway, make sure that Locke has the Hawk Eye, Terra has the Atma Weapon (if you nabbed it at the Cave to the Sealed Gate), Mog has a Gold Lance, and Shadow has the Hardened (once you get it from Gigantos). Also, equip them all with Gaia Gears. Believe me, they're better than you think. Finally, make sure Locke has the Thief Glove, Terra has at least one Earrings, maybe give Mog a RunningShoes, and Shadow has the Memento Ring. This will greatly increase your success on FC. The only reason I'm not certain what you should equip Mog with is because I never use him for that. My usual party is Locke, Celes, Edgar, Shadow. I use most of the same basic equipment, but I have the advantage of Edgar's Tools. Never underestimate the power of the Drill! Yeah, switch Mog out for Edgar, and you'll have a better chance of survival! Oh, yeah! Edgar can't use Gaia Gears, so nab a Gold Armor from Thamasa and give to him, instead.

Yeah, I got as far as Atma, but other than that, I have some trouble fighting him. This was mostly what I was afraid of in the first place.
See, I saw him the first time, and thought that he was gonna be a pain, so I was asking about leveling up. Now that I'm at a little bit more of a higher level, I can get to him, and not to mention the fact that I've saved right close to him. But, after a while, I get him down to a low amount of HP and he'll do this attack, I think it was Mega Flare or something, and it will usually kill Shadow, and the rest will be extremely weak and have all of these neg. status effects. Locke, whom I have Jump instead of Attack, goes Berserk, and jumps into the air, either attacking Atma or my teammates. Usually Mog will either be put to sleep or poisoned, and Terra will be either put to Stone or have been casted that Timed Doom spell on her. At this point he just physically attacks or hits me with Fire2. This is what makes it hard mainly because Mog casts Wind Slash or Plasma or something instead of what would help, Sun Beam, which heals everyone completely. Then it's either Terra or Mog left, along with Locke, who usually attacks one of them so they're already dead, and then he kills Locke... This leaves me dead, and back to square one, because this keeps happening! Does anyone have any type of strategy that would help me beat this guy? My current strategy; Locke heals and occasionally uses second spell magics Terra just casts her strongest magic and at least once casts Scan sometime during the battle Mog uses the Wind Song and just randomly attacks with that dances abilities And Shadow just throws stuff, usually Shurikens, but when I run out, duplicate equipment I have. -------------------- We, who cannot see into tomorrow, have no way of knowing... Don't use Mog's dances. Use him as a fighter or healer.
Have shadow continue throwing stuff. Have one party member use Cure at every turn. Terra can use blitzes - they are strong. You just need to constantly be healed up or else it's too hard to make it through Atma. Once you beat it, you're in for one of the most amazing scenes in video game history. -------------------- I'VE HAD AN ETERNITY TO PONDER THE MEANING OF THINGS. AND NOW I HAVE AN ANSWER... |

I would recommend what I said in the other thread and give Lock a Genji Glove relic and two of the strongest Boomerang weapons at that point in the game, and put him in the back row. That will do much more damage than Jumping.
Summon Zoneseek at the beginning of the battle, and have Terra use Cure 2 on everyone whenever he pulls off his cheesy magic attacks. Shadow should throw stuff, and Mog can use magic too, I guess. But bottom line, I'd recommend giving everyone Cure 2 so anyone can heal everyone on thier turn, combined with Terra and Mog using Ice 2 every turn on him. He should go down with haste. Enjoy the wonderful scene afterwards. ![]() -------------------- |

Could someone give me the full dragon list, because I think I missed one. It says two more left, and I think there's only one in Kefka's Tower right?

The Black Dragon is a random encounter on the southern continent of the WoR.
