If these rumors do in fact work(i'm not saying they do) would they only work on a snes emulator or would they work on the snes system too?

The rumors are not true. They're there just for kicks.

Anything that was truly part of the game would be in both the SNES cart and the ROM. It's also possible to add things to the ROM, like new enemies or whatnot, that would make a rumor "true"...but not in any reasonable sense.

You would figure someone would have discovered anything secretly by now since the game has been out for 10 years.

Someone posted and said "Has anyone tried getting everyone level 99, everyone with all magic, all blitz's, all rages, all lores, all dances, all items etc... and then tried to get leo?"

It's possible but who would get your file to that point? Who would waste such time? You would figure "IF" there was a possibilty to get Leo, it would have something to do with Pheonix...or something to do with Phantom Forest in WoB..

Coupled with the fact we ROM hackers thrive on rumors and proving without a trace of a doubt they're wrong, if any of these were true and given the amount of coverage (ie, pretty much 100% full coverage of every aspect of the game, its code, and its data) we'd know.

Picking through the enemy list does turn up interesting things - Czar comes to mind. But as far as these rumors go, they're not as interesting as they sound. Czar, for instance, has no battle AI and is just a blank enemy.

There are no special scenario events we haven't discovered (though a few dummied scenes come to mind, aat least one of which cannot be seen in-game.) There is nothing major and only the die-hard fans who'd mess themselves seeing a one-line scene would be interested.

Hidden bosses? Secret characters? Hidden dungeons? New scenario events? Sorry. There's nothing of the sort other than what everyone knows.

There's nothing strange, sick or evil about these rumours. It's simply fun. This game has so many secrets and unanswered questions, therefore I don't see it surprising that people create there own answers for the questions they have.

Is ????? Ghost one of these rumors? I never found the character in the game, though I never really botheredto even try. I mean, the train is full of ghosts who fight you if you talk to them, why would you risk unnecessary battles to get a temporary character. I have never heard of this character anywhere but on this website.

No hes no secret, maybe a suprise but no secret. Theres many other websites that also have this, RPGclassics for 1 example.

When you enter the train, go to the last car and you can pick up a ghost there that won't fight you. He's just fun to have on your team!

You can actually have two ghosts if Shadow leaves your party. Some of the ghosts also serve as shops.

If memory serves well, the two ghosts have different character IDs, making them different characters and not merely the same character copied into two different slots.

Personally i wish they had made the gohsts useable charecter thru out the rest of the game, i thought they were powerful allies and plus it would of added to the exoctic charecters you can have on your team. It would of been nice to have both of them come with you, then when gau joins your team one stays in town, when you finally would get the airship you'd pick him back up and have them both wondering the halls. Though i dont know where'd they be in the latter part of the game.
As for the rumors there just there for fun and to test people to see what lengths they'll go to to do these things. Nothing more

i heard that if you forgot to save shadow you could fly around in the airship and after you fight doom gaze youll sometimes get a very rare fight with a mysterious airship and if you win you get shadow back in your party.

I would've liked a character with a sprite like the ghosts, but not with a horrible move like 'possess'. I wish more characters had 'dress up' costumes like the Moogle Suit. Would've been fun to use a chocobo in battle, for instance
