I've always wanted to do a challenge like this but have never been able to do it so i am going to issue it to those who are more skilled than i am. I've heard that the ending is drastically different if you only have
Possible spoilers: highlight to view as your party so this is the challenge i am issuing to all those who want to take it.Celes, Edgar, and Setzer No level gain unless battle is absolutely nessiary for progression. Starting equipment only for all your charecters, that means that the equipment they come with in the game is all you can have for them the entire game. If they leave and come back with better armor only use the starter armor and so forth not the new stuff. No relics, if you have to get any for any reason just sell them. No easpers unless you absolutely have to have them. Don't use charecters special ablities unless it is vital for the progression of the game. In the second part of the game only have the three alotted charecters and dont get your other ones back. Do the game with as few spells as possible using the spells of only those charecters that can learn then naturally. Do the opera house and magi tek research faculity with only locke and celese. Have celes as your only team member (other than shadow) on the floating content if possible, if not use only one other charecter. Beat the game in under 20 hours. if anyone is willing to do this challenge let me know, please report on your progress in the game periodically so we know how you are doing and when you have finished the challenge. Good luck and may the force be with you. -------------------- Don't fear the reaper! Actually, that's impossible.
The reason why low-level and no-level games are possible is because players can take advantage of other things the game offers than just sheer high numbers to bend the rules in their favor. For instance, Dullahan only uses physical attacks as a counter. You can use Celes to leech away nearly all of its HP with Runic by absorbing the spells it casts until it has nothing left to throw at you, then... a single rasp/osmose and the fight ends. With no abilities nor espers nor relics, you have no means of defending yourself against attacks that target the entire party. One hit and everyone's dead. Your only option is to use phoenix downs non-stop, as one attack will almost certainly kill anyone, while dealing ridiculously low damage. 99 phoenix downs is very, very little. You'll run out in the later battles, seeing as you won't be able to protect yourself from even half of the attacks you normally would soak up in a regular low-level game. You want a challenge? Try a single character challenge with Umaro. It's possible, given that your luck is absolutely phenomenal. Realistically speaking you might simply end up fighting Kefka a few thousand times before beating him... that you for pointing that out, that thought hadnt occured to me. Okay so why dont i admend it alittle then.
Only level when nessicary, though try to be under level 20. only use the basic esper magic that you learn from the required espers (ie the ones in the magi tek research facility.) for the sake of making it a challenge i would have to say the only ablities i'd allow in this challenge are edgars starting tools (the ones that he already has when you get him) and runic but thats it. -------------------- Don't fear the reaper! Plus, luck might be in my favor ![]() Who knows, maybe I'll find a way to avoid something that no one else thought of? ![]() Btw, can anyone link me the 'official' rules of an SCC? -------------------- "A little tight, but the price was right" - Locke "Oh, what a Fuddy Duddy" - Relm "..." - Shadow "I'm a General, not some love starved twit" - Celes "Although Edgar showers his attention on the ladies, most are smart enough to pay him no attention.
