Ok, who do you all think was the best couple or possible couple in any Final Fantasy game? I would say Locke and Celes, even though they were never actually a couple, I think they have they became one and would be the best. I hate Cecil and Rosa cause Cecil is a little punk and Rosa should have gone to Kain haha, and Squall and Rinoa....way too damn mushy.

Aeris and Cloud.  You can tell because Cloud isn't the same person once she dies.  Also, in the end, he;s incredibly determined to go see her.  Of course, not wanting them to be together, Tifa butts in and says, "Yes, let's go see her."  Cloud see he knew where to find Aeris, he never said anything about bringing Tifa along.

FYI, I like Tifa.  I just think Aeris goes better with Cloud.

i agree on that, and as for FFVI, I guess Edgar and Celes go better (a king and a general...hmmm)

Even though FF9 wasn't my favorite game of the series, I still have to say that Zidane and Dagger were a good couple.  I didn't particular like Dagger as a character, but as far as how they were developed, I think they had a certain dynamic to their relationship that wasn't seen in a lot of other relationships throughout the FF series.

Other than them though, I'm a big supporter of the "underdog sidekicks", so I always thought that Kain should have won the girl in the end of FF4.  But seeing him on top of the mountain in the end, his hair blowing in the wind, vowing to become more powerful...... was quite possibly one of the coolest scenes in any game; very good development, even though it was the end of the game

Black Mage and White Mage. Yes, they go perfect together. The maniac genocidal mage and the peaceful sanctuary-like White Mage. Yes, 8-bit is the standard for FF1 characters.

But...Zell was pimpin the Library Chick with a Ponytail, and Irvine was always trying to get on Selphie.

I'd go with Zidane and Dagger as well. Squall didn't care for practically the whole game, and I thought Cloud just wanted to pimp it out with Tifa, though he still wished for Aeries.

I gotta go with Cloud an' Aeris too. I mean, in Tactics, when you get him as a secret character, who is it he goes to save? AERIS! Heck, Tifa wasn't even there. Tells you something about who the folks at Square think woulda' been better for him, doesn't it?

Yeah.  Too bad Aeris was such a God awful character.  She doesn't deserve Cloud, and Cloud doesn't deserve Tifa.  FFVII is kind of depressing like that.

Anyway, my vote goes to Tidus and Yuna.  I didn't really like Tidus, and Yuna was kind of boring to me, as well.  But together they just kind of worked.  The overhanging tension between them brought the game to a spectacular finale, as the FFX ending is one of my personal favorites.

I reckon Kain and Valvalis had something going. You can tell through their dialogue. Usually the second romances are better.What I mean by second is the one that isn't so obvious.

i thought about two jobs which could make a good couple, knight and Redmage XD. Also, a woman ninja and a bard would be cool.

Edgar and Celes, Zidane and Garnet.

Together, Edgar and Celes could probably take over the world.  I didn't care for Garnet / Dagger, but the relationship itself was cute.  You could tell it was "true love", but Zidane and Garnet still acted like normal teenagers in their first relationship.  Cute, cute.

Haha, Squall and Terra, or Cloud and Terra, would have made for interesting, if terrifying combinations.  They would become the Super Couple XD

I could only imagine the sheer potential for disturbing fanfiction that could be found in a Squall/Terra relationship crossover.

Ex.:
Terra: "I want to know what LOVE is..."
Squall: "...whatever."

No.  Just, no.  

That being said, Edgar and Celes?  Playing through the game, I couldn't find a bit of canonical evidence for Edgar and Celes hooking up, aside from the fact that Edgar hits on basically anyone female.  Somehow I don't see it working...

I don't know...the stuff with Cloud was kinda moronic...

If you ask me, I would say the Zidane/Dagger or Squall/Rinoa. Squall/Rinoa because it was the first TRUE couple in any FF, and Zidane/Dagger because it was amusing along the plot.

I don't think it's the perfect couple, but recently I've hade this thought going around in the back of my mind. How about Setzer and Terra? Think about it. By the end of the game, they're both older and more mature, and ready for a meaningfull relationship. The only problem is that Setzer loves the freedom to go where he wills, and Terra is taking care of the kids in mobliz. But love finds a way to work around those things, I could still see it happening. (Although I'm not sure I'd want to. )

zidane and garnet. they were just so young and free i guess, it was liberating to watch the two of them together.

i would also say squall and rinoa. i just like squall cuz he doesnt talk much and neither do i so its just a natural like towards him i guess.
