I'd say Vincent.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view I admit his Limit break isn't the best, and his overall stats aren't either, but he is a cool customer, with just a bit of an edge to him.He has a fantastic back story - a former Turk, experimented on and imprisoned, and eventually comes back to fight for vengeance and his old flame. If that isn't worthy of a game of its own I don't know, let alone a "support character" like Vincent. (Oh, I know FFVII is an old game, but there might still be people out there who've never played the game yet... Hence the spoiler tags ) -------------------- I'm never relaxed Even when I say I am I'm always on the alert Looking for the problem |

Cid. Best attack power in the game and a good selection of Limits. Then there's his... charming personality

Haha, I'm simple. I liked Red and Tifa, they both seemed helpful, opitmistic characters with great attacks. Plus, I always liked that Tifa's eyes were reddish like a bunny's, and Red being a talking tiger was cool.

I imagine you could guess given my user name and avatar. Sephiroth stands out as the best antagonist ever created in my eyes, in any game.

Cid.I can understand him perfectly.A man's dreams shattered, and knowing he will never get to see his dreams come true, and must learn to give up his dreams to save the planet.
Tifa:Most likeable character, and never complains. -------------------- We are stardust. Our bodies are made from the guts of exploding stars. Neil Degrasse Tyson. |

Plus, I always liked that Tifa's eyes were reddish like a bunny's, and Red being a talking tiger was cool. Aaaaand no one is surprised by Relm's reasoning Vincent's pretty neat, and I have to mention of course that I used his ultimate weapon as the source of my name here. Based on FFVII alone, it's a bit harder to justify him as a favorite character simply because you get so little background information regarding him. Dirge of Cerberus is a nice little add-on in that respect, even though it does get pretty darn melodramatic. It's hard not to like Cid, for the reasons Magitek and Laszlow mentioned, as well as his general bad@$$ery, to use FFVII's rendering of his vocabulary The third character I tend to lean towards in FFVII is Red XIII, probably because I really liked the Cosmo Canyon section of the story. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! Barret and cloud are the strongest though.Aeris final limit break is pretty good as well.I didn't like the fact that you couldn't control vincent.Against regular enemies:Yeah, its helpful, but not so much against bosses. Also:Vincent uses instant death attacks, and a whole lot of status effects, and most bosses are immune to a whole lot of status effects, and a lot of enemies are very resistant to status effects, like razorweeds, and spirals.

I like Cid and Red XIII the best out of the major players. Cid for his personality, back story, limit breaks and combat prowess and Red XIII for being so innocent. **Spoilers** The scene were his Father's statue cries with pride for Red XIII and he howls back up at his Father, and the scene on the 3rd disc if you go back to Cosmo Canyon for him to visit with Grandpa are the two most touching moments in the game for me.
For villainous characters I like Hojo and Scarlett, and for minor side characters I like the snowboarders/surfers that pop up every so often around the world, and the "train man" that wouldn't leave his station even when part of Midgar was about to fall down on top of it. |

CID hands down he and his assistant always made me smile and I can relate to him the best out of all the characters aside from Reno

I have to say Tifa. She's a martial artist, a strong female protagonist, the childhood friend, and she looks good. Tifa is also integral to my favorite scene in the game: finding the true Cloud in the lifestream.
As much as I like FFVII, she's probably the only character in it that I like on the same level as my favorites from FFVI (Locke, Celes, Cyan, Sabin). That's not to say I dislike the rest of the cast (except Cait Sith), they're just not as high up in my opinion. -------------------- Wha? Thanks to me? |

Hmmm.... Hojo. He was interesting, despite being a minor character. And he's often demonized beyond what evil he actually is, and I tend to sympathize with fangirl-bashed characters.
