Since its Japanese release on September 14th, Square-Enix's Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, the movie continuation to the critically acclaimed RPG, has sold over 700,000 copies. In addition, it's been reported by the company that the limited edition DVD Box and first print limited edition have all been sold out, and the UMD version is also selling very strongly, although its offical sales numbers were not announced.
This overwhelming popularity has served to encourage Square-Enix to surpass this success in the future, according to the CG movie's producer Shinji Hashimoto, who added that expectations for the North American and European releases are extremely high. They also happily report that the bootlegged sub is also moving along at a very brisk pace!

*sob* I'm so poor. With the list of games that I'm wanting to buy, I'll probably have to wait 4 months before I save up enough money to buy AC. The clips I've seen look excellent, so I'm very eager to see it. Guess I'll just have to bear with it and wait.

Well, they finally hit got a dead-on hit with their movie. Here's to AC being the first and last movie in the (currently) nonexistant FF7 series!

I have discussed advent children alot since I come from the advent children forums. I'm just mad that it hasn't been released in the united states yet. It should have been when japan released theres.

I saw it. It was fun but it wasn't very good. A loose plot, with little to no reason why characters show up to have lots of fights. I wouldn't pay money for it. I'm sure you could find a high quality ripped version of it somewhere.
