FFVI? No, I don't think it's too short. It's quite a good length. The story goes nicely and doesn't drag.

Too easy, on the other hand... eh.gif

FFVI isn't too short in my opinion. Would I like it to be longer, sure , that's just more stuff in an already excellent game. But, again, to answer your question, I don't think it's too short

My Opinion,

you may think its short is because youve been playing too many long games, but The Snes is no X-Box. Alot of today's longer titles range from 25-40 or more hours, i guess, but the Snes' longest titles (including FFVI) range from 15-25 hours.

I think every RPG is too short nowadays. I need it to last me a month or its too short.

This way I can focus on my face tan and my body anti-tan

I agree with Retribution; for its time, FFVI was a long game. The cartridge cost me over 100$ when it came out, and was certainly worth every penny. I seem to remember being quite impressed with not only the length of the game, but the depth of the storyline.

It's has great length right now. If anything was added, it would probably be somthing uterly useless and mabye even detrimental to the story, so I voted no.

I think FFVI is the perfect length. Any longer and I might've lost interest. I don't really know what else to say. I mean, they were able to efficiently throw in a bunch of optional characters, bosses, and sidequests, with a few neat secrets. I don't know how long you could want it, really.

almost any game can be beaten in a week of solid playing. Saying that you beat it in a week doesn't really do much for me. My friend beat Tales of Symphonia in a single day and complained it was too long. blink.gif

Anyways, FFVI is perfect just the way it is, IMO.

By the way, welcome to the caves! thumbup.gif

I played FFVII for seven days straight my first time and pretty much beat it within those days.

i think it was too short; the second half was aweful i thought. especially kefka's tower at the end... talk about bad taste to end a game. everytime i play ff6, i lose interest on the second part (though i do continue playing till the end with everyone to at level 99).

i thought about doing something, but i never got around to it. after the world 'colapses', i always wanted to get the bare minimum of players. which included celes, sabin, setzer... does it include anyone else? i forgot if it did. anyway, i'd like to leave everyone, which i can voluntarily get, behind)

The required characters are Celes, Edgar, and Setzer, and the so-called "CES" challenge is pretty well-known.

As for the second part, though, what did you think was wrong with it? What could have been improved, changed, and/or corrected? Also, what drives you to keep on leveling until everyone's level 99?

i would have to say ff6 is perfect because the first world is pretty long and the second world is long because you have to find all the characters so id have to say its pretty long

It's definitely not a short game, but is it too short? Hmm...

I think it's just the right height for its age

I for one would like it be even longer, but that's just because I'm a die-hard fan. smile.gif Basically I think it'd be nice if the bosses were harder and the dungeons were longer.

Oh, and for those talking about beating it quickly: Are we talking the standard never-run-from-battles, no-Moogle-Charm, collect-every-chest quest?

Hmmmm... ya know, I like the length the way it is! *Laughs* As a full time cashier I really dont get a lot of free time except on days off, so a 30 hour or less game is really perfect!

The game itself though, hmmmm... I really afree the first half was better than the second BUT the second half one really nifty in that how many games do you get to see what happens if the big boss wins? blink.gif

Now to get back to that dang tower...

I always liked the second half more than the first half, really. Sure, more plot stuff happens in the WoB, but the WoR has most of the character development, and I like my character development, dangit! There were many very moving moments in the WoR such as

i dont think its too short/long etc. (then again, i love it to the point of obsession, along with ff4...)

ive only given the thought of maxing out everyone...but that would take far too long. (not as long with cactuars wink.gif )

also, the 4th time through, i believe, i finally discovered the moogle charm. i completed every side quest in the WoR in 1 and a half days with that holy relic...its hilarious going through the fanatics tower with it, at least it was the first time laugh.gif

but yes, i always use the moogle charm, which cuts down alot of the game time.

As for the second part, though, what did you think was wrong with it? What could have been improved, changed, and/or corrected? Also, what drives you to keep on leveling until everyone's level 99?

about leveling to 99... i just level up celes to level 99 (meaning everyone else will, after the floating island, be at level 99), so when i get off the floating island, i don't have to worry about any of my guys being at a low level. besides that, i guess it allows me to have complete freedom to do anything i want with any of my characters. after all, they're not naturally great at very low levels. i mean, all of the characters have great potential that can be made be used. for example, you can beat Kekfa in one turn- say your favourite character is Celes: you could take one swift hit on Kefka and kill him. now, that's power!
-----------------------------------------------------------

as for the second part of the game, i thought that the 'partial' (well, more than partial really) destruction of earth made 'despair' the dominating theme which applied to practically everyone in the game. at first, people were hopeful, while the resistance existed for a 'noble' reason, but then came the colapse of the world. despair, sadness and hoplessness came into play. as a player, i felt that their cause that they had been fighting for had been lost, and thus i felt as sad as they did. my 'joy' in playing the game fell with their diminishing hope.

if the sadness (etc.) turned into another ray of hope, in which a new resistance movement would have been created, then that would have improved the game. also, i would have made sure that a new range of characters would have come into play- perhaps they could have been members of the newly created resistance group. oh, and they would feel sad but vengeful; some of their kin would have died tragically (or something of the sort). driven by this mad hate, they would desperately seek vengeance. actually, the retainer of Doma, Lord Cyan would have gone his own way after the world collapsed, and therefore he might have helped in the construction of the new resistance movement or helped in the training of the troops. Or, Cyan would have gathered a rebel force of his own, created by the ashes of the kingdom of Doma. with his men, he would either have marched towards Kefka's tower, or fight the growing forces of the new emperor.

i guess i could go on, but i don't wanna make too big of a thread.

------------------------------------------------------------

by the way, what is this "CES" challenge which you speak of? i've never heard of that... (do i sound lame or what!) would that entail Celes, Edgar and Setzer to unlock some special ending or something, or is that just a 'normal' challenge in which the thee characters are used?

it's when you beat the game <woR> by only collecting Celes, Edgar, And Setzer, <I call it the 'Incomplete edning' version> and then getting all the things, the eight dragons ECT.

But i really don't know how you get the starlet esper wthout recruiting Relm
or do you even do that? unsure.gif

P.S, do you get it, CES?

I thought it was too short. Even the fights were too short. Maybe it was short to us cuz we used magicite and boosted our stregths and magic etc etc. Maybe if there were more thing s to do in the game we wouldnt be pi***** and moaning saying that there wasnt enough to do. I think more towns and more enemy encounters, along with sidequests, and more to do would probably make it a little longer in the run!
