I've got all of them in the past, but working on SCCs right now, so I've skipped them recently.

This is all off the top of my head, so I hope I get most of it right.

Chocobo, Remora, and Sylph are purchased. Ifrit too? Maybe? Not sure on Ifrit.

Shiva - Fight her at top of tower, win and get her.

Ramuh, when you get the airship, there is a town next to a forest on north west part of world. Fight battles in forest till you encounter him.

Golem - You'll run into him eventually, as you climb some mountain (can't remember which). Two battles where you run into him. One battle he hits you once and runs, and another where it's him and two dragons. If you protect him from Dragons (heal him, kill dragons), you'll get his summon after battle (use item).

Shoat - Once you get submarine (world 2). Take it to underwater cave. Follow it, and defeat Shoat to get summon.

Titan - Not sure.. Fight him somewhere I believe....

Carbuncle - X-death castle, world two, drop down and fight him. Win and get summon.

Odin - Go through Jacohl Cave, world 3. Takes you into basement of castle. Fight and win (30 seconds to finish battle)

Hydra - Not sure... again... Some sidequest... escapes me at the momment.

Bahamut - After releasing first tablet in world 3, go to North Mountain and fight him to win. (Late world 3, 35+)

Pheonix - World 3, climb Pheonix tower to aquire (35+)

I believe you fight Ifrit in the Ancient Library and he joins up. You have to have him to finish the place.

Titan I'm pretty sure you fight somewhere. I think he's one of the meteorite battles.

Syldra, go to the Pirates base in World 3 and over to the right from the entrance.

I guess I'll just drop some town names. Fadien and Shinryu pretty much nailed how to get them.

Chocobo, Sylph, and Remora can be purchased in Worus/Walz or in Mirage (world 3).
Shiva is in the waterfall in Worus/Walz.
Golem can be fought on the Valley of the Dragoon (world 2, after Kelb).
Titan is fought in the Karnak meteor.

I'm aware none of this post was new information, I'm just listing the names so it might be easier to find them exactly.

All you need to do against Ifrit is use Shiva against him and he'll join you. If you don't have her you have to put up with the whole battle (and he's a toughie at the begining of the game.)

That's false information, so I'm gonna go ahead and assume you were thinking back to foggy childhood memories rather than lying. Regardless, if you don't know something for sure, don't post it (or, if you really have to, at least mention the doubt involved).

In addition to what Ceaser, Shinryu, and Fadien said, there is an item that allows you to summon the strongest to weakest espers (It depends on how many times you use it. The more you use it, the weaker esper it summons. The 1st use summons Bahamut. And 2nd summon goes Phoenix, and so on..). Want to know how to get it? It's called the Magic Lamp. I put it up on spoilers for those who have not yet made it to the 3rd world.

Possible spoilers: highlight to view
Find your yellow Chocobo (Boco), and walk him past the mountains of Karnak (If I can recall) that leads you to the river next to a waterfall (On the top). Walk it the middle of it, and you'll be teleported to a river map. Walk a bit down, and press the A button ( Press the (X) button if playstation.) You'll receive the Magic Lamp.

By the way, there IS a way to recover the lamp's strength. If you have a submarine, head for the black hole in the bottom to the right of the crescent island. Go past the dwarves, and there is a white-ish looking water. Go to the part where there is a ceiling surrounding one water tile at the mid-right section and it'll be recovered.

By the way, this can save alot in my Thief SCC challenge happy.gif

Don't worry, Neo, you didn't do anything wrong. I'm just dropping a link for anybody who still can't find it by following your directions: The Magic Lamp. -Caesar
