Similar to the Red XIII or Nanaki topic in the FFVII section, what to you prefer to call Garnet in FFIX, i prefer Garnet over dagger, it seems to weird calling her that especially

after all of the events early in the game and when Queen Brahne dies, i would likely get a Rename Card and rename her Garnet

The first time, I called her Dagger since it went with the story. After that, I used her real name.

I had an old signature. Now I've changed it.

I use Dagger until I can rename her, then call her Garnet, then later her real name. It just seems silly using her real name through the first part of the game with the script remaining the same... ^^``

I don't like at all both names so I rename her every time I played it ( except the first time, of course), like Videl, Naru or Lina. Her real name lets me confused, is she the princess from FF I???...( Her mother was called Jane as well as the queen from FFI..).

Garnet's a prettier name if you ask me I mean come on , main girl of the game, Main protaginist has the hots for her She's gotta have a nice name to boot

Garnet, to the point that I rename her that when they try to make me change her name.

Garnet is an okay name. Dagger...well, it reminds me a little too much of "The Raven." You know, that Highlander spin-off that obviously thought itself way too cool and turned out being really lame? Dagger is the name for a character on that show. That, or the name of someone so badass that no one would ever think of questioning it...and Princess Garnet, the silly bint of a girl who changed her name purely on whim, hardly qualifies.

i prefer garnet as well. when i get the opportunity to choose her name, i like to name her garnet rather than dagger. i just think dagger seems kinda weird i guess. once a character's name is introduced to me, i like to stick with it thru the entire game.

I use Garnet all the time, I don't wanna say a nickname and go within the Story, I want to say the real name.

I usually name her Alis, after the heroine and primary character of Phantasy Star, duuno why, though.

Eh, Dagger might be lame, but it goes along with the scene where she actually handles the weapon in question. Why use the scene, otherwise?

but it's just that I think Garnet sounds better. I hated the name Dagger because it just... sounds like she's a weapon.

To me, Garnet's a way better name than Dagger, but since you can change her name later on, the decision on what to call her doesn't arise very often.

It just didn't sound right. I mean, she's a friggin white mage/caller, not a thief. The Dagger name just doesn't fit with what she does or who she is.

Between the two 'phony' names, I really don't prefer either. They're objects and thus they make me think of her as either a long knife or a red rock. Leaving her name as "Garnet" during the scene following the Ice Cavern does kinda defeat the purpose of said scene, but I also find it a li'l amusing for Garnet to ponder over Zidane's dagger and then make a drastic decision to rename herself...Garnet!

Actally i named her 007. In some scenes its pretty funny. Thats the only time i ever really named a character for humor.

after my first time clearing it i named her, her real name just becuz yeah... common since to call a person by their real name and its not rude or mean

In never changed her name, but when I think of the game, I use garnet.

ive always tried to that quest but it nvr works. i follow all the steps but i can nvr find her real name
