Well I picked up RPG Maker 3 on Wednesday and boy was I disappointed. Not nearly as much customization as RPG Maker 2. The process was seemingly dumbed down but I think it made the game too simplisitic and lacking in important detail. There weren't enough character models in my opinion and you didn't get to customize their colors you got to only pick out of 4 or 5 styles. Having a face to go with them was cool but then they didn't have a pick of colors for each face to match the color changes on the controllable sprite. I also didn't really like the way the character models looked. Call me crazy but I like superdeformed sprites better than real people. I ended up trading it in with some other stuff to get Radiata Stories. Hopefully I will enjoy this better.

I mean with good graphics like that, where can you go wrong? I remember buying the original and for those who played it, it was vastly incomplete. Some of the objects where gone and honestly it was very hard to make a decent game with this editor. It was nice if you had a Dex Drive, I thought it was cool brining in Kefka to use on the game and Moogles made an entrance in some of my games but I never competed any games. It was pretty much too hard and to hard to control the game. If this game dumbed down on the controls, then I am very interested in getting the game. The lack of characters and models are what troubles me the most though, but how is controlling the events and editing areas in this game? -------------------- His Divine Shadow |

When there were so few characters and I didn't like some of the designs, I threw in the towel. I"m sure I probably didn't give it good enough of a chance but seeing as how there are so many other RPG Maker programs and games out there I have yet to create for, I really didn't need another one and I shouldn't have bought it in the first place. -------------------- Elena Indurain Currently Playing: Suikoden II |
