Just wondering what everyone thinks of the music in this game. I'm sure most agree is amazing. I always listen to the downloads I have from it (piano, orchestra, actual game music).

My favorites are Shadow's theme, Terra's theme, and Atma Weapon theme.

One of my favorite songs is the walking around theme (wob) and the fighting music is cool to.

Nobuo Uematsu really outdid himself in this game. For just the Super Nintendo, his music is simply stunning. The Boss Theme, Overworld WoB Theme, Magitek Factory, Floating Continent, Kefka's Tower and Atma/Goddess themes are among my favorite. The Ending Boss music was also very well done. What Uematsu does that a lot of other music artists are only okay at, is create atmosphere. Final Fantasy 6 is, by far, my favorite game sound track.

I can't think of another game that has such an enjoyable soundtrack from beginning to end. As a matter of fact, I have a hard time thinking of a song that I dislike in this game. It's no wonder that lots of people play this game over and over.

As an aside, in case anyone isn't aware, the entire soundtrack can be heard thanks to the miracle of SPC's. I personally use zophar.net for my SPC needs.

I think FFVI's songs are one of the BEST. FFV sounded better though.. SNES, of course! My favorite FFVI songs are Locke's theme, Shadow's theme, Returner's hideout, Prelude, Cyan's theme, Chocbo theme, Opera House (during the play), Arria de mezzo blah blah (forgot the name), Celes's theme, World Map, and the esper theme..

Personally I think Chrono Trigger's songs sounded better especially the Outskirts of Time track, but that's for another topic tongue.gif

The songs really are briliiant. I wish the ff vi tunes would be used in movie soundtracks - they would be hits.

I've been listening to this music for years now (the game version, piano and orchestra version), and they are just all great.

If I had to pick, it'd be Terra's theme. What a great piece of music... there are a few versions out there performed by full orchestra which are quite good.

Has anyone picked up the new (strangely titled) 02202020 album, which is a live recording from the Dear Friends concert? You can get it on iTunes.

It is definitly awesome music for this game *smiles* Some of them you get the chills listening to you know? The main theme is simply awesome, I first heard it on a mixed Final Fantasy game and liked it then. Still do now. smile.gif And this was the first game Id played where the castle songs didnt annoy the Hades out of me!

I thought the best music in FFVI was Terra's Theme hands down. It perfectly captured the mood of what FFVI was mostly about (hope).

Final Fantasy VI has one of the 10 best game soundtracks ever, IMO.

My favorite tracks are: Tina, Kefka, Dancing Mad, and Ending Theme.

Grand Finale also has excellent orchestrated music from VI, and from it I enjoyed Opening~Tina and Kefka.

The title is actually 20020220. The title is actually the date that the concert was held - February 20, 2002. (2002/02/20).

My definate favorite would have to be Dancing Mad. I haven't really ranked the others in order. The opening theme when the magitek armor is walking toward Narshe is another one of my favorites. I do like the others but I have to mention that I have a soft spot for the spinach rag (opera house) and the Johnny C Bad (colisseum).

FFVI has awesome music, in that it truly inspires awe. Terra's theme/Overworld theme/introductory theme is most certainly the best song.

And if anyone feels like listening to any videogame song in a different way (particularly FFVI songs, and even more particularly Terra's theme) they should go here: OverClocked ReMix

I might suggest Terra in Black, Death on a Snowfield, and Squaresoft Variation (in order of awesomeness) if you want to hear Terra's theme.

The thing that REALLY sucks is that he left Square Enix some time ago..... whoever takes over his place better make some decent music!

Uematsu didn't completely leave Square... it's been confirmed that he composed the theme song from FFXII... (Kiss me Goodbye) but it seems that's the only work he'll be doing for that game.

I've downloaded some of the songs from the official FFXII website (actually another person got them from there and put them up for download heh), and while the music is good, and enjoyable... it doesn't seem to quite build the atmosphere the way the Uematsu's music did. However, one of the songs has what sounds like the crystal theme. I was thinking that if Uematsu left, they wouldn't be able to use some of the obligatory FF music such as the crystal theme, the final fantasy theme (plays at the end of all FF games except X-2 which he didn't do any work on... which led me to this conclusion!), chocobo, and whatever else that just makes FF what it is. ^^

At annnnny rate.... Back to the topic at hand. XP

FFVI definately does have some of the best music in the series. My favorites are the various renditions of Terra's theme, Cele's theme (along with the opera song), Gogo, Umaro, Shadow, Relm, Cyan especially (It just really captures his character), the Magitek Facility, WOR airship, I could go on and on... haha. The only themes that I didn't care for was the one played while South Figaro is captured and also when you're in Vector... while it really captures the oppression feel, it just got a bit... annoying after awhile.

Hearing Terra's theme played by a live orchestra is like... Whoa! If you ever get the chance to see Dear Friends, DO IT! It's just simply A-W-E-S-O-M-E! It blew me away.

Aye, my favourites would be Terra's Theme, Celes' Theme, Shadow's Theme, and the WoR World Theme (Post Falcon).

I thought that the Fierce Battle( with the atma weapon) was absolutly flawless!
But to me there was a close second, The Decisive Battle. I think that Nobuo Uematsu did well with these scores!!!!

For some reason, I like the battle theme in this game a lot more than the battle theme in the previous games.. and better than 7 and 9 too, but I have to say I like FF8's a lot.

But I really liked the FF4 Boss battle theme.. laugh.gif

For me, Final Fantasy 6 had the best music. Overall, it really linked to its theme: good verses evil plus laughs. All of the music is generally fun. Well, most.

Specificly, Dancing Mad, Zozo, Kefka's Theme, Figaro, Boss Battle Theme and Falcon were my favourite. I think they excelled One Winged Angel, Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec and Maybe I'm a Lion. Brilliant job, Uematsu-san!

the tracks I like in order are:

Daryl's Theme
The Falcon
Cyan's Theme = Celes' Theme
World of Ruin
Sabin's Theme (Is that what it's called? I can't remember.)
Terra's Theme
Thamasa

Of course I like EVERY song from this game. It's only one of the FF series i have played where I can't find fault in a single song. smile.gif

I loved Relm’s Theme, Gogo’s Theme, Cyan’s Theme, and the Dark World the most. But mostly every other song is pretty high up on my list of favorite songs. I also like Drawing Resentment (?) from FFVI: Special Tracks (?). Found them at xenogamer.com
