I made this not too long ago, and with it's surprising local recognition, I felt I should share it with you guys. I think Dr. Seuss was a weird fellow, and after reading Cat in the Hat to my younger siblings, I came up with this.

Quick Note - It's about Saddam Hussein. No I'm not a supporter.

Could you, would you harm those people?
Would you harm them in a steeple?
Would you harm them in a house?
Would you step on them like a mouse?
These are very important questions, Saddam.
Hurry before they drop the bomb.

Could you, would you hide from George?
Would you hide in a gorge?
Would you hide in a cave?
Geez Saddam, aren't you brave?
Saddam, you must answer this now.
Put that gun down, don't have a cow!

Could you, would you rule with tyrany?
Would you make people antzy?
Would you make people sad?
Would you make people mad?
Uh oh, looks like the troops are here!
I heard gunfire, we should get clear!

Where are you running Saddam?
Are you running from the bomb?
Are you running from the guns?
Running gives you tight buns.
Saddam, they got you.
In a few months you'll smell like poo.

Might be plenty of spelling mistakes, sorry about that! In anycase, sorry if this offends anyone in any way.

I like it! It's lighthearted, even though it deals with a serious issue. The only problem I have is the "tyranny-antzy" line, it seems kindof odd. And the rhythm is a TINY BIT off in some places, but not enough to really detract from a poem.

Distant hills wear a shroud of grey
A lonely breeze whispers in the trees
Sole witness to history

I enjoyed it, just because of its quirky charm, and it rhymed! ^.^ I love things that rhyme, all the time (ha ha ha) This I enjoyed. Keep up the swell work!

I'm telling you you're wrong.

I'm personally surprised my own poem turned out like this, I'm not a usual poem writer. Still thank you for the praise people. biggrin.gif
