I used to play Diablo quite frequently, but then when Diablo 2 came out, I stopped playing it since I liked the run feature too much.
I was really into Diablo 2 last year. I started a b.net account, but my characters are long gone. I would gladly start up another character if anybody would be interested in playing. Poison Necro = amazing....almost as good as the Elementalist Druid. -------------------- Is PJ |

Never really had the courangge to boost any of my characters over level 72 (I've ever only got one...) And Mephisto runs gets so boring. Low luck is always against me so...
I think with 400 mf over 50 mephi runs at hell, I had 30+ normal uniques, a lot of normal sets item / 0 exceptionnal uniques, 2 exceptionnal set items / and of course 0-0 elite. Oh and I got a cathan's ring too ![]() A sorc with raven claw + enchant is fun at level ~40-50 but gets so weak later on, well at least cows in Normal & NM dies impressively fast. Enchanting noobs is crazy too ![]() -------------------- Sayonara |

I haven't played in awhile but it was a worthwhile addiction while it lasted. My most leveled character was an 80th. lvl. paladin. I played him as a bowadin or ranger (exclusive use of bows and holy shock or fanaticism) whatever you want to call it. Playing a bowadin can be a bit of a challenge in the later levels especially nightmare or hell. Always running away...I had a 5-socketed rare war bow, which I found meself

I'm still playing Diablo II. Blizzard's been cracking down on the hackers, lately, and it's kind of funny hearing people whining and complaining about losing their accounts with all their godly characters and items. I'm sure they went to a lot of trouble to accumulate all that "wealth," but last I remembered, hacking was explicitly not allowed in the game, so I suppose the hackers should have known better.

I have been inspired to play this once again, so I made a new character in my old account. Both my account name and character name are DiCesare. I'm a Barb. Hopefully I'm not the only one who'll play...maybe some others in this thread will start a new one and join me sometime.

Oddly enough, I just dusted off my old Diablo CD last night and started playing anew.
My new character is a rogue. I've recently beaten the butcher (after getting to him, starting a new game, and getting to him a second time at level 7 or so.) I started off with bows, but quickly switched to scimitars after finding a pretty nice one (considering I'm on floor 3): 4-10 damage, +20% light radius, and some other bonus I forgot (+7 to strength?). I do keep a bow handy (currently one that does 1-4 damage + 1-3 fire damage.) It comes in handy when I find some fences to shoot through. I'm thinking of picking up Diablo II. I figure the price must've gone down quite a bit now, and Diablo I is starting to bore me. Mind you, I don't play games very often, and it's my first time playing a rogue so there's still quite a bit of fun left in that game for me. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

I am a fan of these two games. I mostly play off-line (single player), though. On Diablo, I loved playing as the Sorcerer with swords and sheilds with an occasional spell staff. I haven't played this one in a VERY long time.
On Diablo II, my character is a Level 20-something Necromancer. I name my characters after Final Fantasy or Mortal Kombat characters ![]() -------------------- "Thought I was dead, eh? I've played both of these games for a ridiculously long amount of time, dating back to the very beginning of battle.net and Diablo 1, and in both games, have pretty much done everything with every character, including acquire most of the top-end items. I used to be terribly addicted to both games, but thankfully, it's not so bad now. I still play it, and currently have a level 44 necromancer on hardcore for the new ladder (I never play the regular softcore). I always enjoy starting from scratch and accumulating everything while starting with nothing. If there's any other hardcore players, let me know! I'd be happy to play with you!

Hehe, I got myself into one massive bind last night.
I'm playing a rogue on the Hell setting (D1, Hellfire expansion). I started at level 1 (and gained 6 levels after killing my first enemy ![]() So I come to a point where the entrance to a floor gets mobbed. Majorly. Crap. There's nothing I can do because the hoard of demons down there massacre me in half a second. I was hoping to land a few hits and escape, heal, and repeat until I had killed enough of them to make a break for it, but the effort only served to draw more of them into an even tighter group. Hrm. I beat a hasty retreat to town. Well, no problem. There's still that hatchery level. I figure I'll just level up in there enough to take on a few more melee attacks and break through. Tough luck. I get mobbed again. Now both dungeons are overflowing with demons, and I'm basically screwed. I start to consider starting a new game with my rogue, because there's absolutely nothing I can do. Takes a second for me to get gang-banged by a dozen demons who all attack me at once the moment I head down there. I come up with a last ditch solution. First, I buy a scroll of phasing (after checking my spells; nothing immediately useful there...) I run downstairs, and plan to activate it, then lead them away from the stairs and sneak back out. If anything, that would buy me enough time to peg a few of them with arrows, and I could try to repeat it until the shop runs out of scrolls or I kill them all. Down I go, and lucky me, I manage to sneak by them into a corner without using the scroll! I heal and save immediately, then realise how stupid that was: out of the frying pan and into the fire. So now I'm pinned between demons and a wall... that's not any better now, isn't it? Out of desperation, I fire all of my lightning wall spells off in front of me and... the demons get stuck. They either die standing inside the wall of lightning without reaching me, or stay back and wait for me to fill them with feathered shafts. ![]() That was a pretty scary moment right there. Made me REAL glad I used those books instead of selling them... -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

I got into a bad situation like that too, once. I was fighting Diablo and he had me pinned against a wall. I had hardly any health left...a single hit would kill me. I open the menu and go to load game, but I misclicked and accidentally saved it again. So each time I'd load, he'd kill me. I somehow managed to heal and get out before he killed me, but that was after a good 30 or so tries.
![]() As for me, I've been playing DII single player, occasionally doing a multiplayer game with my brothers. It is really fun, actually. My eldest bro is a Pally with Holy Shock, my other brother is an Assassin with combat skills (mainly blades of ice) and a really good Shadow Master, and I am a Polearm Barbarian. I found the unique Lochaber Axe (The Meat Scraper, I believe), and I am currently going 54-580 damage with a normal swing and over 1000 if I use Berserk. I'm nasty. My warcries also give me over 1000 HP and more defense than I could possibly need. Right now I can solo Baal at the difficulty of 8 players, but that's only on normal. Gimme some time and it'll be the same for Nightmare and Hell. ![]() -------------------- Is PJ |

I think I played single player once and had enough of it. As far as I can tell, there isn't enough in the game itself to hold your interest; it's basically the same quests over and over again. Playing online gives a lot more options solely cuz you're playing with other players, particularly for trading and combining the strategies of different characters (zealer's fanaticism spreading to bowzon ally or necro's minions, for instance). I know I spend half of MY online time trading.
I suppose ye can actually talk to the other people playing, too, but isn't that what CON is for? ![]() -------------------- |

I'm sure there are quite a few, including meself, but then ye have to figure not all of us play softcore ladder. Not all of us play hardcore ladder. Not all of us play softcore nonladder and not all of us play hardcore nonladder. I, for one, only play softcore nonladder for reasons I have already mentioned in this thread. Then, of course, there are our REAL lives, so good luck getting a decent party together, heh. -------------------- |

I'd be in, but we'd prolly all have to agree on soft/hardcore and (non)ladder and start a character from scratch. I personally have no problem with that. We'd also have to set a time, unless we planned to play all day (!).
If we get enough people, I'm in. Actually, all I really want is like 2 or 3 more people in addition to myself and I'd be good to go. Here's my vote: Softcore. Ladder/nonladder does not matter one bit to me since I'm starting a new character. My new character would prolly be Assassin (assuming we're playing LoD). Edit I just realized that we DON'T have to start new games necessarily. We could just set a level quota for the week. For example, we could say (be at level 12 and in the Black Marsh by Saturday), and then play however long. Or start new games. I don't care. Alright well since there is either little interest or everybody is too lazy to post, I'll post my idea.
Firstly, everybody interested in playing should post their account name so they can be added. I'm DiCesare, as I said before. Secondly, whenever somebody wants to play, they shoudl either create a private game with a constant title and password for everybody to access if they want to join, or join a pre-existing game with such a title and password. For example, we could title a game "narshe" with password "r51", and then whenever somebody wanted to play, they could join in. Since nobody posted a preference, I suppose I'll go ahead and say that all characters should be softcore nonladder, just because I don't care and because others use that. I'll be on every once and awhile, so feel free to try to whisper me if you get on. -------------------- Is PJ |

I don't really play with anyone but my trusty sidekick. Because I don't really trust people, and i've had more than my fair share of item snatchers and/or thieves. I'd rather my MF benifit me than some jackass who clicks fast. So unless I can be persuaded otherwise, i'm really uneasy about playing with others.
I also don't follow set builds. I make my characters how I want. And I enjoy it more. People seem to get mad at me for doing that when i'm in their party, so I don't know how well i'd fair with strangers anyway. Of course i'd definitely be willing to do trades, POSSIBLY duels. -------------------- This one time I punched a bear in the forehead TO DEATH! I still have the scars on my chest. ZH, that's the only reason I'm playing it with CoNers, frankly. I trust the members on this site to not loot my corpse or steal my items or anything like that. I already told you I wouldn't, and I really don't care about items that much anyway. All I need is a good physic build with a decent weapon and like 4% magic find. Everything else is optional. Heck, I just beat Act I, and I didn't even have gloves or boots, and all I had for armor was leather armor. No, I'm not cheap, I just don't find it necessary to buy equipment. If I find good gloves, fine, but gloves with +2 to defense and +1 to light radius isn't worth my time.
![]() If you trust that we won't steal your items, feel free to join in a game if we ever get one organized. Cloud_Strife, I started a new game ~1.5 hours ago. I just beat Act 1 and I'm at level 14. I prolly won't do much in Act II until I figure out what everybody else is doing, since I don't want to get too far ahead. Just for the record, I'm using a pally, since I remembered I hate assassins. ![]() -------------------- Is PJ |

Anyhoo, Caesar's idea is as good as anything anyone could come up with as it could include anyone at anytime (though planning a specific time might get more people together). Galsic, it would definitely be easier to set a time, but a lot of us are in different time zones, and I'm not in the mood to figure it out.
Just for the record, I'm playing on the USeast server. It might help if we were using the same one. ![]() Edit I have another idea. In an attempt to keep everybody updated on each other's progress, everybody could simply put the level of their character and current location (even if it's just "early act II") in their sig, so frequent updates in this thread would not be necessary. This would also keep people from falling too far behind; they could just open this thread, and scroll down to each member's signiture to find out how far they should be. Of course, this is just an idea, and probably won't matter at all since I highly doubt we'll be able to get a multiplayer game to work. So many points against us, such as time zones and realms, and only a few with us, such as people wanting to do it. If anybody is curious about my time zone, I live in New York, and it is 3:26 PM at the time I wrote this. This post has been edited by Caesar on 10th September 2005 19:26 -------------------- Is PJ |

I play USeast often, myself.
At the moment, I've got a level 10 Assasin and a Level 5 Necromancer, since I just started playing again last month, on and off. I'd be more than happy to play with some CoNers, rather than some typical online player who brags about the mediocore weapons they have. If anyone wants to play, feel free to PM me or, let me know the next time there's a group of you getting on and I'll tag along. I used to be a major D2 junkie, but i didn't really like the expansion set much. Was much to easy to lvl on. I got my zon to 99 in about 2 weeks, which is pretty sad. However i still play classic from time to time on uswest if anyone wants to play some. Just to show how little of a life i have i have -90 lancer barb, 89 hammerdin, 88 nova sorc, 3 88 bow zon, 87 hydra sorc, 2 87 sword barbs, 87 lance barb, 86 zealdin, 86 helper din (max meditation, prayer, fanat), 67 enchant sorc (to give people quick boost on norm, so they can basically rush themselves and level real fast), and a few others. Wow i need to get out more often.

Quote If anyone wants to play, feel free to PM me or, let me know the next time there's a group of you getting on and I'll tag along. Playing alone is never much fun anyways. Dragon_Fire, we haven't done a group session yet. We haven't really found an efficient way of doing it yet. Right now, I'm just adding everybody's accounts to my friends list so whenever I'm on, I can check to see if they're on and/or what game they're in. Ok I think I found a sorta-efficient way of doing this. Basically, everybody adds each other as friends, like I mentioned I did. If you don't know how, you just type "/f add <insert account name of friend to be added> whenever you're in DII chat, or in a game when a text box is open. Then, when you're in chat, you can type "/f list" and it'll display all your friends' names, whether they are online or offline, and what game they're in if they're online. So that solves how to find each other. As for the games, whenever you create a game, make the name and password the same. That way, when we type "/f list" to find where you are, we can join your game, but nobody else can. I honestly think this is the best way to do it. I'm currently a level 13 Amazon, in the outer cloister. I've been doing all I can to NOT beat act I, by doing all the little side caves and dungeons, but there's nothing left to do except beat it (no more "Hole" or "Cave" or "Pit" to do...only one way to go). I'll prolly end up beating act I tonight, but I won't do any act II. Edit It seems I was wrong. If you make a private game (that is, if you specify a password), the game name doesn't show on the friends list. So I guess the best option is, in fact, narshe///r51.
