FFIV didn't really have a whole lot.
Off the top of my head, there's Item Duplication, Super Item Duplication, Flying chocobo head, Warping in the Dwarven Castle to get the Darkness Crystal, and Freezing the Countdown Timer. There may have also been something involving one of the airships. -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

In addition to DP's comments, FFIV also had a "minor volume" bug in the field if you press start while the end of the battle starts flashing black (returning you to the field).
Another thing was the Lunar Whale when you go to the top part of the ship (outside), your head overlaps it and your body does not. |

You forgot the Invincible Wang one. During the part where Wang locks himself up with the dark imps and kicks the party out of the room, if you hold up and tap A quickly enough you can re-enter the room and not only fight the imps, but get kicked out by Wang again. Repeat for Extra Joy .
I think that can happen during any "locked door" event, but that's the only one I know of. Edit: Ah, and this one happened to me once. I had one of the airships exactly over the spot where you arrive when you return from the moon and, after getting Fusoya, instead of landing my airship landed on the other airship and, like it should, rose back up again in the "this spot isn't clear for landing" way it usually does. It was cool seeing everyone freak out over a giant robot when they were actually miles up in the air. ![]() This post has been edited by Silverlance on 20th August 2005 20:55 -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

His name is indeed Yang. "Wang" is either just what Silverlance calls him or what he has Namingway rename him. If it's the latter, I'm happy to know I'm not the only one who does that.
Plus, unfortunately for him, his middle name is also "Fang". Hey, I just work with what they give me! Anyhoo, I'm sure I've seen a compiled list of FFIV's glitches. But typically me, I don't know where I found it. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway. Quote (because555 @ 20th August 2005 12:03) What is the chocobo head? If I remember correctly, if you get off of a chocobo in a forested area, the chocobo will fly away like it normally does, just without its body. Quote (because555 @ 20th August 2005 12:03) what is the Countdown timer The floating eyes with wings in the Lunar Subterrain cast a spell on you that gives the character a green 10 above its head, and counts down to zero. When it gets to zero, the character dies. If you hold the confirm button, the counter will stay at zero and the character will stay alive. It's a very tricky, very conditional bug to activate, though, as sometimes it will only delay the death or it won't work at all. Quote (because555 @ 20th August 2005 12:03) the Warping in Dwarf castle? After your fight with Golbeze in Dwarf Castle, and you get Rydia, before you leave the room, have Rydia cast Warp. You will end up back in the Crystal Chamber, and the Darkness Crystal will still be there. If you get it, Kain will immediately leave your party once you step into the doorway in the Sealed Cave. This causes you to not have to go through the Sealed Cave. If you do, though, the Sealed Cave's crystal ends up not being there once you beat Evil Wall. -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

But does Rydia even have the Warp spell once you get her in the Dwarf castle. Also, what does this crystal have to do with the one in the Sealed Cave? I thought those were two seperate crystals, and therefore you have to go into the sealed cave. anyway, i'll try it now, i hope i have a Save close to the underground.... In my game, Rydia learns Warp in the Antlion's Cave. The crystal isn't the same one as in the Sealed Cave, in the story. However, it seems that picking up any crystal will add the necessary item to your inventory. (There are other places where events can happen in the wrong way. For instance, talking to the King of Fabul will trigger the fight with Kainazzo, etc. Apparently, some flags aren't specific enough.) Since you never get the (story) crystal from the castle in your inventory, there's no overlap. Keep in mind that if you do this, and you still want to go through the Sealed Cave to loot/level, you're going to be doing it with four people instead of five. That's usually what keeps me from using this trick, though I've done it before. -------------------- Veni, vidi, dormivi. |

I got Rydia after the fight with Golbez. But Golbez turns into an arm and then takes the crystal. There is no way for me to get it back. And I can't cast warp either because because the group leaves the crystal room and you can't go back inside. So when exactly am I supposed to do Warp? -------------------- I'VE HAD AN ETERNITY TO PONDER THE MEANING OF THINGS. AND NOW I HAVE AN ANSWER... |

This may be related to the "Super" Item Replication you mentioned DP. Was made aware to me by a friend of mine;
• First of all, you've gotta have the Avenger sword. Make sure Cecil has arrows equipped in his good hand (that'd be the one with the stats) and then any bow of choice in his bad one. Enter battle, preferrably an easy one, and don't let any characters make any actions. If Cecil does not max his ATB gauge first, let the other characters pass their turns by parrying. During Cecil's first turn, enter the item screen. Move the arrows he has equipped to an empty item slot, and then move the Avenger sword into his bad hand. Exit the item window. Cecil's commands will disappear because the Avenger sword has now cast Berserk on him. Allow the battle to finish with all other characters parrying. Post-battle, go to Cecil's equipment screen. Move Avenger to an empty item slot, and place the sword you'd like to replicate into his good hand. De-equip the sword you've chosen, then re-equip it. You should have O# swords in your inventory -- likely 255 (it can't actually display the number). • Havent tried it myself though. |

That is what I meant by the "Super" Item Replication.
I've tested it, and it works. 255-ish is what you get, and it will have a weird symbol or a square of a background image. Quote (because555 @ 26th August 2005 11:36) I'm surprised this bug exists. how did anyone ever find this?? Usually warp should take you away of a room, not put you back into one. I think it's probably a coding oversight. I know nothing about coding, but my guess is that when they were coding the crystal rooms, they gave the options of having a crystal that gets picked up, having a crystal that can't be picked up, and never having a crystal. They must have given the one in the Dwarven Castle the same marker as the one in the Sealed Cave (the one that says if the Darkness Crystal is/was in your inventory, it is empty). Plot Twist? And have you seen some of FFVI's bugs? One "bug" I know of is placing Rydia's Sylph summon in the upper right hand corner when you go to the "call command." You don't have to sacrifice the 20mp to summon it anymore, though it still says you do. I don't think this works with FF Chronicles, though I'm not sure because I don't have the game. It does however, work for FFII (US) because I tried it.

Actually, the Sylph summon in FFIIus seems to cost nothing regardless of where its placed, because I have it on the center left side of the 'Call' list, and it doesn't cost anything.
Also, the displayed cost is 25 MP, if I recall correctly. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing.
