Who here digs the Wild ARMS series? I just got 3 myself and think it is plenty of groovy.

I am a huge fan of the entire Wild ARMs series.  My favorite of the three is the third, followed by the second and finally the first, though they're all amazing games.  WA3 is probably the first themed RPG that I've played...at first I didn't know if I would like the Wild West style, but it actually adds a lot to the game.  The soundtrack is excellent, I downloaded the whole thing and love every bit of it.  Wild ARMs 2 has long been one of my favorite games, only behind FFT and SoM.  I think the puzzles are what really draw me to the second and third.

Why do kamakazi pilots wear helmets?

My friend got Wild ARMS 3, but it doesn't seem to work. He needs one of those laser eye cleaner cds or something. I have Wild ARMS 2. Good game, but I never beat it. The battles are a little too slow, so I lose motivation to play it.

i love the WA series.  my favourite is 3, then 1 and then 2.  i loved 2 but as someone said the battles are a little slow-paced and that can get annoying, esp. if you want to go play it again.  3 and 1 have better characters also.

I'm afraid the only Wild Arms I've played all the way through is the second one...I have a knack for seeing the second in almost any series I get first...anyway, I played some of the first one, but only some of it. As for music, I really got into WA2's western-sounding selections. I think I'll have to buy the first and the third one pretty soon...

Well, sounds interesting, especially with the western theme...not something you find too often.

Eight years later and Wild Arms is still one of my favorite gaming franchises out there. I actually replayed both WA2 and WA3 recently - they don't really get old for me. This playthrough was the first time I ever beat the Ragu O Ragula superboss, too...at least in WA2. I don't think I could ever bring myself to complete the entire Abyss dungeon in WA3 to face Ragu there.

I have WA5 but haven't played it. Is it worth it? It's been on my list of games to play forever.

I was introduced to this series roughly half a decade ago when I saw the trailer for Wild ARMs 4 by accident. It showcased what seemed to be unique gameplay accompanied by what seemed to be a theme tune sung...in English, yet it sounds like J-pop. I also fell in love with said theme.

Since then I've become more familiar with that singer. Her name is Franki Love. She sang the opening and ending themes, which were originally sung by Kaori Asoh.

However, I still haven't played the game. This is mostly because I don't have a PS2, nor have I ever seen the game available for sale. That said, i hear that the English version has a bug wherein one feature was disabled but that prevents completion of a second feature.

I have been meaning to play this series, and don't mind starting from 1. All I know is that it is a JRPG series with a more western-U.S./Native-American setting to it.

Actually, WA3 is probably my favorite game of the past decade -- I love all the western-influenced settings and characters, and Naruke's soundtrack is divine. I skipped WA5 after hearing it was more like WA4, the installment I least enjoyed, but could probably trick myself into playing it if the opportunity arose. Here's hopin' the series ain't dead yet!

PS: Gallows' mouth could dry-dock the Titanic, haha

I have the first three. I enjoyed the first, though I'm not sure I'd play it again. REALLY enjoyed the second, and I'd definitely wouldn't mind playing it again sooner or later. I've yet to finish the third, and I'm not too sure why (probably just got distracted by other games and activities).

On top being my fave installment (among the first three), WA2 is the most aesthetically pleasing to me; WA1's 3-D models are ugly and I'm not exactly sold on WA3's cel-shading style. As far as I'm concerned, nothing beats well-made sprites (though some 3-D models are starting to look really good these days...)

I actually used your WA3 guide for treasure chest references in my most recent playthrough, and your WA2 guide for general stuff in THAT most recent playthrough. Did you know your WA2 one completely omits the Fab Lab? That's one of my favorite optional areas in the series, it's just so silly.

That's one thing I really love about the games in the series that I have played - there's so much optional stuff to do. 2 and 3 in particular just have tons of extra bosses to fight, which is one thing I always like about any game.

I must I only played the first WA. I didn't even got very far because of the sometimes quite hard riddles. I am not even sure if all of my three main characters ever found each other.
