Here I won't include classical music, as that will make me take forever to make a list.
Hotel California: a classic. Stairway to Heaven: a classic. Pokemon: JigglyPop: a completely nonsense short little piece of hilarious crap. Pokemon: Johto theme song: a better-than-good song, as long as you pay attention to the tune and not the doo doo doos. Pokemon: Lucky: well, I'm not sure about this, because I only have the first 30 seconds of it, but the first 30 seconds are definitely great. Pokemon: James as Moltres: not actually a song, but a recording from a TV episode. I keep it because of the "came right out of his closet" line. Wow...is James finally worth something? Pokemon: My Best Friends: listen to this and you'll be able to tell how good it is. I've sung parts of it for friends who don't like Pokemon, and even they like it. Pokemon/some person who "gots skillz": Pokemon Dance Remix 1: Not the original "Pokemon Dance Remix" (which I call P.D.R. 0), this is actually the pop song that has a refrain that goes something like "Ayeeayeeaye, on your little butterfly, dream like you're murred, making colors in the sky" [??????], but that song has, on top of it, pikachu speaking sounds, as well as an entire Pokerap near the end. But just because of that novelty, it never ceases to amuse me. Pokemon: original theme song: the best of the Pokemon theme songs, it's actually a very well done song. To this day, I still enjoy it, and it sometimes serves as a source of inspiration. Pokemon: The Time Has Come: a very touching song, that applies just as well to long-time buddies and lovers leaving each other. Pokemon: To Know the Unknown[Unown?]: an all-around nice song. Pokemon: Together Forever: probably the second-best song in Pikachu's Jukebox, following My Best Friends. Works best if it follows The Time Has Come. Pokemon: What Kind of Pokemon Are You?: also an all-around nice song. The music is especially nice, although the lyrics are not the best. It's fun to sing along to, though. Pokemon: You and Me and Pokemon: another very well done, brightly-colored song. The Black Mages: Dancing Mad: self-explanatory. AmIEvil: Death on the Snowfield: a remix of FFVI's opening theme part3. Very well done, except that the guitar makes it sound less like you're outside trodding through deep snow in MtekArmr and more like you're inside contemplating memories of something. Gaffeizil: Cid in the Factory: a very interesting remix of Devil's Lab from FFVI. You should hear this for yourself. Mustin: The Atomizer: a remix of mainly the Atma battle theme of FFVI. Also very creative and unique. silent: Toroian Love Song: a remix of several FFIV themes, made into a love song. Very nice. Celtic Moon: FFIV Melody of Lute: a beautiful remix of a great theme--Edward's theme. Mega Man 4: Dust Man Mega Man 5: Gravity Man, final boss, Napalm Man, Stone Man Mega Man 6: Wind Man Mega Man 7: Intro Stage Rockman Promo Disc: Stone Man, Wind Man Mega Man X: Intro Stage, Spark Mandrill, Armored Armadillo, Boomer Kuwanger, Sting Chameleon, Sigma Stage 2, Ending (sad song), Zero speaking Mega Man X2: Crystal Snail, Overdrive Ostrich Mega Man X3: Blizzard Buffalo, Gravity Beetle, Intro Stage, Neon Tiger, Toxic Seahorse, Volt Catfish, Zero Mega Man X5: Intro Note: If you want to sleep at night, don't put any Super Metroid music onto your playlist. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. Basically I'm just going down my Winamp list and picking out my favorite songs from each individual artist I got on there (that's why they're all in alphabetical order for the most part). I left out any songs already mentioned(i think). I've seen a lot of good songs on here, like Stairway to Heaven(hell yeah!), Patience(great song), Freedom(one of my fav RATM songs), and anything from the Celtic Moon series (great music for writing, as I have come to find out). i90, i'm gonna have to check out those artists you put down under your Smooth Jazz section. I've always been looking for some good Jazz sounds, but I never really knew where to look and I didn't want to dive into something I didn't know. But aside from all that, here's my list of fav mp3s:

Do legally-acquired songs count? My music's mostly german rock...
Megaherz - Kopfschuss (First MH song I heard from an internet radio.) Megaherz - Jordan ("Muss du uber den Jordan gehen!") Megaherz - Gott Sein '04 (The original is good too, but there's something about the heavy guitar in this one that I love. And the prayer/confession halfway through just wins me over.) Megaherz - Liebestöter ("Ja, was fur ein spass..." Hehehe. ![]() Megaherz - Rock Me Amadeus (First MH song I learned by heart.) Megaherz - Marz 5 (TOO DAMNED GOOD FOR WORDS! I love the lyrics!!) E Nomine - Vater Unser (This got me into E Nomine. ![]() E Nomine - Das Tier In Mir (There's something about the whole hunter/prey thing that I just like... The dark mood of the song rocks.) E Nomine - Schwarze Sonne ("SCHWARZE SONNE!!!" Hehehe...) Eisbrecher - Eisbrecher (I like the "Und das eis zebricht" bit, repeated over and over in growing intensity.) Eisbrecher - Zeichen der Venus (First Eisbrecher song I heard. Nice and calm with some heavy bits here and there.) Rammstein - Mein Teil (I just flat-out fell in love with the heavy guitar bit at the beginning.) Rammstein - Sonne (Learn to Count With Rammstein! ![]() Rammstein - Ich Will (The crowd singing is awesome.) Rammstein - Stein um Stein (I used to hate this song. Then I learned enough german to understand the lyrics. Wow. Just wow. ![]() Non-german music? Uh... I might have some Infected Mushroom CDs... Dunno... I usually listen to german rock while working. ![]() -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

I have a few with which I am thoroughly infatuated...
"The Boy With the Thorn in his Side" Jeff Buckley's live cover of the Smiths' song "This is Hardcore" by Pulp "Dress Rehearsal Rag" by Leonard Cohen "Duke of Prunes" by Frank Zappa (in fact the whole album Absolutely Free is my Ipod fave) "2+2=5" by Radiohead (great song, eh IrkenInvaderMike?) "Happiness is a Warm Gun" by the Beatles "Under My Thumb" my favorite Rolling Stones song... those are just a few, I've become a bit of an MP3 fanatic and spend WAY too much money on it. ![]() -------------------- "You broke my f***ing sitar, mother f***er." -Anton A. Well, my Top Rated iTunes playlist is pretty indicative of the songs I feel I could not, and therefore no-one should, go without. I tried to limit it to one song per artist, but I failed with Steve Reich.
![]() Concierto Para Marimba u Orquesta, 1er Mov - Bismark Fernandes. Captain Beefheart - Lick My Decals Off, Baby. When the Music's Over - The Doors. Peaches En Regailia - Frank Zappa. Everybody Here Wants You - Jeff Buckley. My God - Jethro Tull. Starless - King Crimson. King of the Rodeo - Kings of Leon. Hollow Man Parts 1 & 2 - Kula Shaker. Kick Out the Jams - MC5. I've Got My Mojo Working - Muddy Waters. The Bryden Two-Step (For Amphibians) - National Health. Shimmy She Wobble 2 - North Mississippi Allstars. Slightly All the Time - Soft Machine. Steve Reich - Come Out. Steve Reich - Nagoya Marimba. Tabla Rasa - Sven Van Hees. As Ugly As I Seem - White Stripes. And the one second song called 'MARIMBA' I chanced upon. I suppose the best I can recommend are Ishida Yoko's Para Para MAXes. There are seven of them, four of which I've collected.
Each is a 30-60 minute compilation of popular anime music, remixed and resung by Ishida Yoko. Para Para MAX 1-5 Para Para Bishoujo MAX Para Para Mecha MAX Good luck finding them. ![]() (If you find the Mecha MAX, let me know. I neeedz it) |

o/; I see a red door and I want it painted black. No colors anymore; I want them to turn black. I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer cloths. I have to turn my head away 'till my darkness goes... I see a line of cars and they're all painted black... o/;
A real classic, "Paint it black." This is the song that's been redone by a bunch of bands and that everyone knows about. If there's one MP3 everyone should have, it's this one. And the many remakes. ![]() -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |
