my question here is simple:
is seifer... A- Evil? or B- A troubled teen? i think i would opt for b. i dont think seifer was really all THAT bad, it just seems like his jealousy for squall just went a little too far so he had to put himself in a position of power. i dont think that really makes him bad so much as somewhat brainwashed and misguided. discuss. -------------------- You watch the world exploding every single night Dancing in the sun, a newborn in the light Say goodbye to gravity and say goodbye to death Hello to eternity and live for every breath Your time will come... |

I go for option C.

A little bit of both, but I think it leans towards B.
All of his "evil" came from his total obsession with being strong and recognized and/or better than Squall. Without this trait, he is kind of a jerk, but he's definitely not what anyone could call evil. -------------------- "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking." ~Dorothy L. I opt for B. Sure, he's a jerk, but as far as evilness goes, he's just misunderstood, and misguided.

I vote for Option D - melodramatic and whiny
Granted, Squall was ALSO whiny, but at least he whined on the side of Preserving World Peace. -------------------- "Turd-cookies!...they're hot and soft, though..." he often did his whining internally as well, so even though you had to witness it, nobody else that he was with did.

Seifer is not evil, and I'm not quite sure if he was misguided. He believed in something, wanted something, and wouldn't let anyone else stand in his way. He just had less then popular ways of achieving his goals.
I liked Seifer ^-^ -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

I think Seifer is just one of those misunderstood people. I'm guessing acts the way he does because, growing up, he never really did fit in with the other kids. I think that, deep down, he's actually a good guy. He's just a little misguided at times, that's all.

I don't think Seifer's evil...just a jerk...
but seriously. I think it's like in FF4, Cecil and Kain took diffrent paths due to diffrent circumstances. But they both got to the same place, right? But in FF8, Seifer and Squall took diffrent paths and crossed gunblades. And unfortunatly, ended up in diffrent ends. That was Seifer's choice. He didn't complain about it, he took it with no regrets. Thats what matters. Translation: Seifer's not evil, just a diffrent kind of hero. -------------------- Really Random Quote of the Day: "Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war." - Richard M. I look at Seifer the same way as Cain from FFIV, his emotional and personality weaknesses allowed him to be the perfect tool. What he wanted deep in his heart, and the darkness within it, was exploited to make him do evil things. Though, he was more than just a "troubled teen," because he took the whole "being-on-the-side-of-evil" thing and went with it to no end.
