Quote (trismegistus @ 5th April 2005 01:56) Man, take it from me, actually changing his name to Nanki is dumb, it just brings up stupid text boxes like "What? Nanaki's name is Nanaki??" and, although not the disaster that naming everyone in ff6 KEFKA is, it's really not worth your time. I like nanaki ![]() -------------------- the name of desperation I call your name A lamentation I sigh Again and again |

I played the game through just yesterday, ::cough:: yes the entire game... and I named him Red. just Red. the guy at the entrance still says "Nanaki is Nanaki. That's his name." this is because he has no clue what you've been calling him up to that point. But normally I name him Nanaki... And I name Cait Sith Reeve, because he is...

It depends. Sometimes I am picky and name all the characters their default names, but other times I get stupid and fix things.
I tend to name Aeris Aerith, Red XIII Nanaki, and Cloud Zack (even though he's not ![]() Although sometimes I name Red XIII just plain Red. Usually, I just go with defaults, though. I still call them that in my head no matter the name, so it's less confusing that way. Who's Nanaki? Nanaki is Nanaki. That is his name? You mean Nanaki? |

I tend to name him after my friend who has a liking for this particular character. In fact, I usually name all of my characters in RPGs (if possible) to names of friends of mine. Makes it more fun for me that way. If I can't think of a friend to name someone, I leave their name default.
So, for me, Red XIII = Santi This post has been edited by bad andy on 24th July 2005 03:02 |

It makes me feel more involved in the game when I include the names of people I know. And I voted for Nanaki. just because I like it better than Red XIII. I just don't care for numerials in my characters names, except for Robo in Chrono Trigger, who I always name after his 'real' name. |

I keep wondering aobut the origin of Red XIII, its really strange cause he seems not to talk that much about his past except for the fact that he is Seto's son and he's pround of his father. I'm more interested in his species, he seems intelligent, he's a monster and somewhat interacted with Aeris (Hojo was almost able to make a Aeris-Red XIII breed). This brings up the question...
Is Red XIII's species related somehow to the Ancients/Cetra? Another thing that supports this idea is what Iflana said about how the Cetra turned into monsters because of Jenova. Is Red XIII a product, after 2000 years or evolution, of this disaster. Your thoughts... -------------------- Who is Byblos? |

My first data file corrupted just after you find out Red XIII is called Nanaki so I strted again. But trying to be smart, when you first meet Red XIII you get to name him, so i called him Nakira, so that when i got to Cosmo Canyon, the man would say 'Nakira is Nakira', but he actuallly said 'Nakira is Nanaki' Woops

I made the same mistake as you did RubyWeapon, cept I called him Naruto. I was dissappointed when I figured out his real name for the third time I played this game.

no matter what you name him, it will always say "nanaki is nanaki" because the person you talk to doesnt know that he was named red xiii in hojo's lab - cloud asks "whos nanaki" - nanaki is nanaki - it will never say anything different, jeez yall

Yeah that's what I though, but why do all them say otherwise, do they have the international version or something that had errors fixed or things changed??

in 4th grade i called him "Red Eight" because of the mistranslation of the roman numerals. But since then i called him .... ba dum dum dum "Hoju XII". i dunno why Hoju just fits for me (pronounced Hoe-Joo). Another funny thing to do is name all you characters Bobo 1-9 and have fun messing with your mind. That's my 2 cents

Lately I use Red XIII for no reason, but also I always name the main character either Satoh(if he has dark hair) or Lind (if he has light hair, exception being Tidus, he's not cool enough to be Lind)

Okay, I made this thread a while ago now and I think I had my answer. The results could have changed in the two-three last months, but they didn't.
It's worthless to keep this thread opened because I really start to consider some posts as spammed. So, I am closing. -------------------- Sayonara |
