Nope, I'm pretty sure it's just luck. But hey, maybe it does! Try going to a different one and see what happens.

I think I usually have good luck getting it when I pick up Shadow in Kohlingen. The first time, when you learn the whole Rachel situation. I don't think I've tried it anywhere else, honestly.

No, it doesn't matter where you stay. Sometimes it seems to work better in specific towns, like almost every time for me 'n' Maranda, but in reality the dreams just happen randomly regardless of the inn.

I never had a single time it didn't work for me, then again I thought you had to go to a different inn each time. So maybe you should try that?

Putting characters who have relationships with each other seems to make dreams occur more often. Examples: Locke & Celes, Strago & Relm, Edgar & Sabin, Mog & Umaro, and a couple of others I can't think of right this moment.
If you get Shadow in Kohlingen, you can see 4 of Shadow's dreams in the WoB. The fifth one can only be seen in the WoR. If you don't see any dreams in the WoB, then in the WoR the 5th dream will be shown first, then the other 4 dreams. If you fail to save Shadow, putting Relm in your party will allow you to see the dreams, and the 5th dream is replaced by Relm's dream. Here's a couple of links that might help: FAQ: Shadow's Dreams http://www.cavesofnarshe.com/forums/ipb/in...p?showtopic=381 |

I believe it's a 1/4 chance whether you'll see a dream or not when you go in an inn with him

It makes no difference where you stay, which inn you stay at, you can see all of the dreams in the same bed... which is why I always hire him in Kohlingen and sleep for free at the Returners' Hideout.
![]() And, contrary to popular belief, there are indeed, only 5 dreams. There are four you can see in the various inns, and his fifth dream, mentioned above. The rumour that Shadow gets a different ending if you see his seven dreams is just that, a rumour. I figure someone might have mixed up the number of dreams with the number of dragons. Beats me why. |

Quote (Smackthedog @ 10th August 2005 20:51) u can get him in the WoB? ![]() You can hire him in several places. First is during Sabin's scenario, where he's in front of the old man's house; he'll stay with you until Baron Falls, or until he decides he's earned his keep. Second, is in Kohlingen, after the raid on Narshe, where you can hire him for 1500 GP. Again, he'll stay with you until you've finished Zozo and are forced to take Locke and Celes, or until he's earned his keep, as he says. And lastly is right before Thamasa; where he's forced to fight with you, while in the employ of the Empire, until the mansion fire. And of course, the Floating Continent. Technically, it's part of the World of Balance. ;P |

He's worthless in WoB prior to Thamasa, though. I hired him and was all ready for Zozo, and two battles inside of the town and he ups and leaves. So I walk ALL the way back to Narshe to get Celes. Worthless. I even managed to get him to run away after the Imperial Base, before the Phantom Forest! I reloaded and managed to get within the forest, though, after which he stuck around.
