Hey...Ok I'm really bored in the early wee hours of the morn so I'm posting all my questions up now

Ok I know that drinking Hero drinks a lot boosts your stats, but is it pernament or is it 1 battle only?

From guide description: "Raises abilities once during battle"

Just for the battle. Never used 'em myself, but I suppose they can be handy in a pinch. smile.gif

What's awesome about Hero Drinks? The best part about them is that you can use it more than once and it will continue to boost your stats in the same battle. If you use 5 or so in the battle arena, you can take 9999 damage with a weapon even if it's broken, or use a multiple attacking limit such as Cid's Highwind and deal more damage than Omnislash or KotR ^_~

well barrylocke, we all used the sources, but its rather time consuming to get practically 200 sources for all the characters, and thats why curse rings and hero drinks were so useful - major boost for your stats - even if its only for 1 battle, who hasnt been in a boss fight thinking "geez, i wish my [magic, strength, magic defense, what have you] was higher, this guy is kicking my butt" - it has its uses

I would only use them against Ruby and Emerald WEAPON. Depending on how much trouble I'm in, some of the other [later] boss battles would be other instances in which they'd be of good use.

the drinks rock! I would use them when fighting the WEAPONS and also throwing in a megalixir here and their with the W-item materia. Considering the weapon fights can last from 10-40 minutes, the drinks help biggrin.gif

Those things pissed me off, I figured they'd do the same thing as Hero did in VIII, and give temporary invincibility, but noooo... Anyone know what does this?

i believe the only way to become "invincible" in this game is one of aeris's limit breaks - it inflicts the status "peerless" (i think) and voila - temporary invincibility

I Really don't see how anything so trivial as a hero drink can do any good unless you use like 10 at a time, cause if you're not strong enough to beat something, then 1 extra point per stat isn't gonna help much. So unless you have 99 of the at any given time, I'd say they just suck. I'd much rather get something with a similar rarity, like an ether or 2, I mean unless you bbuy them, they're not easy to come by. I get lots of herodrinks, and they just take up space. (For anyone interested, I have a gameshark code that sets an infinite "Peerless" effect on the characters)

The hero drinks actually increase the damage you do quite a bit. I beat Ruby WEAPON in probably two-thirds of the time I would have, only using one. I never knew you could use several, though.

So long as they appear in the battle inventory, I imagine you could use 99 at once, of course it would take a minimum of 50 turns to do so (witem)

Satoh, eventually it will stop working ... I think. I'm pretty sure Strength caps at 255 just like all the other stats and even though thats good... you can only do 9999 damage. Just thought you should know thumbup.gif

I Understand, I'm just saying that as long as the item is present, it can be used in some form.(Whether the boost in stats effects the character or not, is irrelevent to my point as the item still works, just not well, and yes all stats end at 255 considering they only use 2 hex digits to contain them.)

So we've established that they last for the battle, but would a hero drink last for the entire duration of a battle arena set, the way status ailments do?
