One of my favorite video game series of all time is Contra and I've drawn some stuff from it a while back, I came across this file on my computer and thought I'd probably load it up.
 It's a pic of the final battle in Contra 3, yeah I know I messed up on the man (looks nothing like Bill Rizer) but I like it overall, it's about a year old so it would explain why the art looks weird. And then there's this one...  ...is from a fanfic I've begun writing called Soldier of Fire and the Sun Warrior, a KP and Contra cross over (note the improvement over the gun design). I originally just drew Kim and Ron but as I finished it looked empty, so I thought I'd just throw a couple of 'mug shots' in the back. Well I like Contra but I never really got into it past the first one. I rented one of the newer ones that came out. Impossibly hard, but I did come pretty close to beating it.
I really can't remember much about the game really, so I can't comment on accuracy. The eyeball blob in the first one looks nice. The second piece is pretty good. Bunch of freaky alien stuff. The 'Eyeball Blob' is a giant brain and yes the Contra series is known for it's extreme difficulty, but it isn't hard up to the extent you never want to play it anymore, but just the right amount of difficulty that has you going back and trying again. Anyway, I found a pic I did of Bill Rizer (atleast I think that's who I was going for) looming over a dead alien and I tried my hand at drawing it again, and this is how it came out...
 I tried adding a more gritty feel to it, and yes I know he looks kind of looks like Solid Snake... -------------------- |

Woot. More nice sketches.
For the first one, I think the guy needs a bit...more...muscle. Looks kinda unexpectedly thin for a Contra character. But the huge eye...lol, I was reminded of the lame final battle of Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance when I saw that. For the second one, that's some nice concept art. My only comment is that I think you could have done better by drawing Kim's body and outfit slightly more like Ron's. (Independent of that, the Kim's breast outline kinda sticking out seems awkward to me.) For the third, what's that coming off of that guy's face? Smoke? Yeah, it's smoke. See the cigarette? Hehe.. it DOES look like Solid Snake... but whatever. VERY good drawing, another thumbs-up.
