I got the gudiebook but i forgot what its needed for. If you know what to do with it, write an answer below. If you dont, read on


So, the finished result:

Morph Ghost Ship (found in junon nderwater tunnel, battle square) to recieve the gudie book. Take this to the man in Kalm and he will give you the underwater materia so you don't have a time limit for fighting Emarald Weapon.

Next, go to the Gold Saucer Area and bump into Ruby Weapon, defeat him, and you will recieve the Desert Rose. If you give THIS item tho the man in Kalm, you will recieve A GOLDEN CHOCOBO!! with bad stats....

After that, go hunt Emerald Weapon down under your submarine, you get an Earth Harp for defeating him. If you give this to the man in Kalm, he shall be very grateful and give you:

Master Summon Materia
Master Item Materia
Master Magic Materia

BTW: I am sad so I taunt Emerald by following him, racing him(and winning) or making him chase me because hes slow. And i mutter to Emerald 'Come on fatboy, cant get me now, huh? Come on' and i just go over him when hes parkerd ride infront of the Gelnika and taunt him further.

Erm... yes.

I realized my old sig was kinda lame.

The guidebook is one of three Kalm Traveler items, the Guidebook gets you the underwater materia, which gets rid of the 20 minute timer for the Emerald weapon, which makes the fight easier slightly.

The desert Rose, which you get for beating Ruby weapon, the travler gives you a gold chocobo with bad stats, i think on the stats though.

And lastly i forgot the name of the item you get for beating the emerald weapon, but if you give to the guy in Kalm you get master magic, summon, and item.

Just out of curiousity, why the heck would a WATER enemy give you the EARTH harp? I know it's the right item, but is it a mistranslation? A glitch? Standard FF wackiness?

I think the real question is... why would you ask a question like that? If you can agree that a character like Red XIII uses a hairpin for a weapon or that Cait Sith uses a megaphone, then accept the fact that water enemies drop earth stuff and that pirate ships get morphed into guide books
