The title page image for my FFVI doujinshi that I'm going to have printed, and shall be selling at a convention soon. (Not Otakon though)

My first -real- attempt with tones.
I had issues of the tones not being as large as my image.

That is absolutely splendiferous. Perfect SD style, lovely, uh... tones? Shades? Whatever they're called, they're lovely. And I love that she's in her Amano outfit.

It is incredibly beautiful, I love how adorable you made Terra look, even though she's currently building up something that could fry a few soldiers to death.

Are you going to make a coloured version?

I wasn't planning on it, since the image in the doujin will be toned as you see.
Though maybe i'll make a coloured version for the back cover of the book.
That might be cute.

thats a really awesome picture - did you draw it yourself, or just played around with the tones, so to speak :-P -- either way, i like it

Holy mother of French. That is one hell of a piece. I LOVE IT!!! I love how you made it look like manga (that was dumb for me to say, seeing how you're using that image for doujinshi), I love how you did her hair, her Amano outfit, the SD, the tones/shading...

Malshun - I most certainly drew it myself!

Rujuken - It's actually suprisingly easy. All it takes is finding the screentones (I believe I googled it and got one page that was really good. I have a link somewhere) and then a matter of using photoshop to select parts of the image, using the expand feature, and then paste into.
Then you can use the magic wand to select parts and play with the brightness to make the tone darker or lighter in spots, OR get a different tone to place over the existing one to make it look shaded, for example how I did her tights.

I do have a livejournal, but the journal that has artwork is hikaroochan.
I could probably put one or two of the five stories that are going to be in the doujin online.

Clean doujinshi.
For no amount of money on this planet will I draw my beloved FFVI characters in nasty situations. I don't draw hentai.


The doujinshi is going to consist of probably four or five different short stories, depending on how many pages they are. This one was originally six, and I think it will end up ten.
I'm aiming for a 30-40 page doujinshi.

However large it is, it will most likely only be available at the conventions I go to unless people pay for shipping. And I can't get my eggs all in one basket. Something will deter me from finishing, like always. I'm pretty set in my ways on this one though.

So yes, to answer the question. Clean. >.>

Just for curiosity's sake, is everything going to be in the SD style, or is that just the cover?

Like a manga, it will have parts that are chibi and cute, and parts where they are normal.
That's just a title page. That's not the cover, I posted the cover art forever ago. I need to redraw it, actually.
The cover is going to be the only thing in colour though.

Wow, I have been waiting so long since you last posted your art.

This one sure is lovely!

Colored versions aren't always the best ones, but you are so good at colouring that I'd still give it a try if I were you.

It's really hard to find anything wrong it that picture, there would be a tittle thing: maybe polishing her left cheek? Maybe it's just me (this is SURELY jsut me) but I find it a little too dark there. Don't edit tough, it all depends on the people's point of view.

Whatever, you did a clean and perfect job for the light effects on her hair!

I'm lost in wonder, this is just too beautiful, can't really find any other word to describe it.

How many tones have you been using, four? I sure never tought that someone would be able to do that. I have seen people using eight different tones, but you totally breaked the record in any way. ^^

I used at least ten different tones on that picture.

I won't do the doujinshi in colour because I want it to be more of a traditional Japanese doujinshi. No, I'm not Japanese and nor am I real manga artist, but I want to keep it as close as I can.

Her cheek could very well be too dark, I'll probably play with it a bit before I print.

Ah blame on me,

I tought there were only four or so until I noticed the one you used for her hair were totally different from the ones you used on the skin. Maybe my eyes and having trouble with black & white?

Did you choose the gray colour for any particular reason? Perhaps because it can reflect any colour you want?

I did the image in greys and blacks and whites because that is how traditional manga is made with screen tones.
Granted, this was done in photoshop, but still.
