I think I read this in the site history section awhile ago. The website was called World of Ruin.

If we're allowed to get a little obscure, I'll pull out a few (but not all) of the stops:
What Broadway show, founded by ex-members of the now-disbanded Star of Indiana, featured soloists Jeff Queen and Nick Angeles in their original cast? -------------------- |

I hate to double-post, but the requisite week is up and no one seems to know their Broadway productions or DCI groups... such a shame... Anyhow the answer is BLAST. BLAST is a broadway production which basically has drum corps antics on stage in I believe eight acts. Star of Indiana was an old DCI group that disbanded in 1992 and Jeff Queen and Nick Angeles are two of the world's premier snare players who were soloists in the first act of BLAST's original cast. Get a DVD or something, BLAST is freakin' awesome.
And now the new question, which I expect should be answered considerably sooner: What classic Mega Man enemy does Wily pilfer from the Robot Museum in Mega Man 7? -------------------- |

OK, I'm not allowed to answer, but I'll explain why Malshun's wrong. You're thinking in Norse myth, not Celtic. He, the daughter of Loki and Angerboda, was indeed the governess of frozen Niflheim, one of the Norse underworlds, even if the dragon Nidhogg was Niflheim's most ancient resident. Muspelheim, the firey underworld, was ruled by the demon Surtur (or Surt) (keep in mind that there are I believe nine worlds in traditional Norse myth). So, in short, you're wrong because he wants Celtic and not Norse, and even if the question was about Norse it'd be a debatable answer.
Come on, people, the fact that no one's getting this is making the mythology buff in me insane. Edit sentence structure; Hades is Greek, Mike... And Silverfork, I always thought it was spelled Arawn too. Good job getting it. This post has been edited by laszlow on 16th July 2005 14:59 -------------------- |

Ok just so this will go faster the answer is not Hades (greek), Pluto (roman), or Hel (norse) and though you may consider it cheating just google it.

Wasn't there more than one, or do the names just vary?
Eh, never been much into Celtic mythology past knowing a miniscule amount. Since my computer's moving too slow to even consider Googling it, I'll just throw a wild guess out: Arawn? That's probably misspelled, and probably wrong. ![]() -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway. That is correct Arawan is one of the Celtic (Welsh to be more precise) gods of the underworld (or otherworld) so take it away SilverFork.

No, not quite. Here's a hint: she was a key inspiration for a name in Mankiewicz's most famous screenplay. Give me the movie and the name and you're gold.

You got the movie right, but I need more. Charles Foster Kane was inspired by William Randolph Hearst. What part of Citizen Kane was inspired by Marion Davies? God, I hate spoonfeeding... I'm not accepting any answer from you, Malshun, because you've obviously done some research and I'm not giving any more hints. -------------------- |

Yes. Rosebud was Orson Welles' nickname for her, and also the one part of Citizen Kane that anyone who's heard of the movie knows. Your turn MetroidMorphBall.

IIRC, Rosebud was a reference to one of her naughty parts.

lol, geez, thats awfully rude of you, lazlow - i was looking around, had no clue what you were talking about - and obviously nobody else did either - i was trying to keep this tread alive, for one, because i love threads like this - testing for knowledge, etc, whatever - but hey, live and let live, so on and so forth - since someone already got the answer, lets move this train along ![]() -------------------- -In the beginning the Universe was created. Not Lancelot, and not Perceval.
Lancelot would be correct for Le Morte D'Arthur and most of the stories that appear after it, but not before it. |
