no, they have no use in this game. they are just treasure like the stones and items your guys brought back from their trips. and I kind of wished the treasures would be some use to the game but no!!! oh well.

Are you serious? you have THREE materia?? Dammit, i only managed to get one!

The materia are proposition items and, like every other Unexplored Land and Treasure, has no actually in-game use except to serve as a cross-over references and to explain part of the culture. They have better backgrounds, too, than FF7 gave them, too, I'd say.

One thing I wish Square would have done is expand the proposition items such as materia to actually have in game effects. The culture explanation is nice, but that just would have been cool IMHO.

Oh, and SGN, let me know what you're thinking about the way the Lionel Coronation has been going so far. It's been the fun to see all the players enjoy it. PM would be fine since that's off this topic.

I'm not 100% sure on this one, and my sources may be a little questionable, but i have heard that materia increases your stats or your multipliers - but I have also heard that you have to be a max level treasure hunter for it to apply. like I said this may or may not be true.

she's the master of FF Tactics all her characters are level 99. Umm I don't know if that was a spoiler or not. V_V!

Oh yeah, umm nope there just pretty treasure hunt items to look at.

They have no in game effects but if the people in Ivalance really knew what some of the more powerful ones could do. . . .

Speaking of which, I kinda find it strange that you could use both Cloud and the Materia Blade in this game, yet the actual Materia did absolutely nothing. I mean, you'd think you could supercharge Cloud with them or do at least something useful, yet you can't. Oh well, maybe he just forgot about the stuff. . . Cross dimensional travel can take a lot out of you don't cha know?
