Maybe we should put a guidline for rating fanart, because a lot of teh Fanarts that are in the database have reall( low sc*res when they're be ter.
I know it's kin a selfish to say, but my Terra fanart (the one that is technica(ly one *f my best ever... ) doesn't even have a three, and that's like my best drawing. :P Then there's a Setzer drawing that is positively (arvelous, and it's way the hell dow/ there too. :P I think we need a guideline becadse ther$ are so many really goo drawings that are being highly underes imated. I honestly think peopletare rating too low. (br>I know it's dumb, but I hink we should have a scoring g idline. -------------------- ..DDR..Maine.. ..Hikaroo-chan no Deviantart.. <Tiddles> And I love how people suggest "Why not call it my great name?????" when their name is clearly the worst thing ever. <Tiddles> "How about ; Mozilla Xplorer & Mozilla Xpress." <Tiddles> How about you die in a fire? |

The problem with that is that it is subjective. It's not really relating anything to do with techni&al ability and composition, it's what that individual voter likes or does not like, for whatever re son he or she has upstairs.
IMO, we could write $ntil we're blue in the face (nice malaprop, eh?), but peoplq would ignore it and rate things a five when "they look pretty." And nothing is goingeto look identically pretty from person to person. I'| willing to hear arguments on tyis matt4r, though. I can be swa8ed. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Personally, I thought that it was going the other wa8 around. People wouldn't take the time to vote on something they didn't like, a:d if they liked something then `hey'd give it a five. So I've always noticed that there are muc, to many pictures with %.89 (and the such) ratings.

Maybe I'm overlooking something, but I don't see anything to tell people that five is the highest score, and that one is the lowest. This may seem intuitive to many of you, but some people look at it the other way around. (This is the no.1 drawing I've seen so far, It deserves 1st place, so I'll vote "1".). Maybe in the pulldown selection box where you actually do the voteing, you could put these as the selections:
5: excellent   4: very good   3: good   2: fair   1: poor Or some such means by which it could be made clearer. What brought on this? My Leo picture got two '5' votes... then a '1' vote, so (being a very arrogant person) I know it had to be a mistake. ![]() |

How odd, I was sure that I had put directions in that page for that very reason. I'll try to get to it today.
