Wild Arms.
I know there have been sequels, but they were all made in a different way from the first, with what I assume must be a completely different creative development team. I loved the tri hero games, like Secret of Mana, they don't come around too often, do they? -------------------- An Eternity To Man Is But A Moment To God |

I would absolutely love a sequel to the FIRST Wild ARMs, but I doubt that'll come 'round anytime in the near future, if at all.
Wasn't there some official talk of an EarthBound sequel (Mother 3) several months ago? Not the scrapped N64 one, obviously, but a completely new one supposedly in development or at least being considered for it. What ever happened to that? -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway. Quote (Blizzard_Wizard8 @ 5th March 2005 23:58) Chrono Cross is a perfect game in terms of storyline, graphics, music, SFX, characters and replay value. That's what people search for in a game. Most good RPGs leave you with questions unanswered. THANK YOU! It's glad to know that someone finally agrees with me... and yes, I DID play Chrono Trigger first. Anyway, getting back on topic, the number one non-Square game that should have a sequel is Crystalis, an AWESOME action-RPG for the NES with a suprisingly good plot and great battle system. Then comes Mario RPG. I know they made PM/PM2 and Mario & Luigi 1 and 2, but those really weren't sequels, they were just other RPGs... about... Mario. But I mean the world looks entirely different and there are no references to the original MRPG, so they aren't sequels. Besides, when you think about it, there's NEVER been a Mario game that had any relation to older Mario games, platformers included. I don't really mind, the absence of a plot is one thing that makes Platforming Mario games awesome! But I would really like a continuation of the story with Mallow, Geno, and Smithy (well he's dead but whatever) and whatnot. They should also make it darker. Dark plotline, but chock full of the same sillyness that made MRPG awesome in the first place. -------------------- The island bathes in the sun's bright rays Distant hills wear a shroud of grey A lonely breeze whispers in the trees Sole witness to history ICO-You were there- |

I want another RalliSport Challenge. RSC 2 is one of the best games on X-Box in my opinion.
EDIT: And Starcraft! No, Ghost isn't a sequel. I want Starcraft 2. This post has been edited by Penquin on 5th July 2005 20:21 |

Ghost looks fantastic (if it ever comes out), but yeah, a StarCraft 2 would be nice.

..Star Tropics... You mean the Old NES RPG series? Yeah, that'd rock, seeing those remade. I don't even know who made 'em anymore.
Something else I'd like to see sequeled/remade is Soul Blazer/Illusion of Gaia/Terranigma. Those were some of the great Enix games, before they became.. you know.. what they are now. -------------------- |Daniel Wesley Rydell|Fanfiction.net| |

Sonic Adventure 2, need a sequel, but that is considered Sonic heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog, but an actual SA3 would be cool.
If any game needs a sequel it is Tales of Symphonia, some ppl claim Tales of Phantaisia is the sequel but i mean one that has to do with Symphonia's cast, not a completely new one. A Sonic Rush 2 would be nice, but its not going to happen, Sonic Rush = Best DS game, period. |

I dunno... I really liked tales of symphonia... I know that TECHNICALLY tales of phantasia is a sequel, but I want a sequel with the same characters and world. It could follow Lloyd and Colette as they go about collecting expheres from everyone, perhaps? (correct me if I'm wrong, but that's how it ends, right?)

If I may waste someone's time...
Another Chrono game would be cool. Cross was good and all, but I still had the feeling they could make up some wierd things that were left unfinished. I could get behind remakes or something of Soul Blazer/Illusion of Gaia/Terranigma. Especially since North America didn't get Terranigma. Starcraft 2...I thought that died. I mean, it's probably one of the few games that still has the popularity to warrent a sequel...but nothing. Ghost has been in production for half a decade methinks, and I'm not big on shooters. But probably the big one would be Planescape: Torment sequel/spinoff. Thsi was one of the best games I've played. Exquisitely written with some of the most bizarre and cool characters ever. Celibate Succubus? Floating Skull? Justice's right hand suit of living armor that kicks a** with his axe? You can't make that stuff up. It was just good all around. Problem is that...the main character was on the box art...and he's not pretty. So it sold terribly, so no sequel. While I'm at the ranting game...can we get Squenix to stop making FF7 spinoffs, seqeuls and stupid merchandising? I mean...I liked FF7, but not enough to buy all that crap. Sorry for the ranting. -------------------- Really Random Quote of the Day: "Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war." - Richard M. Well I was thinking of making a thread like this, and lo and behold there's one already.
as for a game that deserves a sequal Live a Live, a rather short RPG with room for replay. Yes Live a Live has Replay value, it's a simple RPG witha simple storyline(with mindblowing twists), the gameplay is fun, psuedo tactics and strategy rpg,, not many of the bosses are hard, and did i mention replay value. in the remake all i would ask for is longer scenarios, harder difficulty(Some scenarios you could get the best equipment right off the bat) However if this game were to have a sequal i would like somebody besides square to do it, I haven't been altogether pleased with squares recent games (FFTA for instance) The game seemed like an experiment to me, but it's very dissapointing that it never origonally made it to the states and that it didn't have any sequals. It's a very addicting, fun game. -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

Quote (SilverFork @ 1st February 2005 15:17) I'd love to see sequels to Jet Force Gemini and Pirates! Gold. For anyone who's played either or both games, well, how could you not want more? Unfortunately, they're both kinda obscure... Pirates! Gold? For Sega Genesis? That game was updated 2 years ago for the PC, under the title, Sid Meier's Pirates! It's the same exact gameplay that the original had but update graphics and some enhancements. The same quests are there, but alot more buried treasure, more towns, more npc's, and more pirates. I agree with you that Pirates! Gold ruled, it's still one of my favorite games, and you'll absolutely love Sid Meier's Pirates! because it's the same game updated. It's fantastic and you should go check it out. -------------------- Feeling unknown And youre all alone Flesh and bone By the telephone Lift up the receiver Ill make you a believer |

I think the Zelda series needs another sequal because Zelda is awesome! First, they had Ocarina of Time, then the sequal to that was Majora's Mask, and they should make a sequal after Majora's Mask for when Link comes back to Hyrule. Zelda is one of the most awesome RPG ever!!

I'm pretty sure Majora's Mask is a Gaiden (side-story game). Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm sure that's what it was.
Although one of the things I liked about the Zelda series was it's almost non-existent timeline anyway. -------------------- |

Possible spoilers: highlight to view I'd like to see another Mario Kart Double Dash as well. I wish they made a sequel to Harvest Moon 64 (the best harvezt moon everz) Nothing would really have to change since It's already perfect, but maybe graphics. Starcraft... As much as I love Brood War like I love checkers, chess or pictionary as a royale and moste ancient game, they need to do it again! Blizzard have shown that they can create great sequels such as Warcraft 3. Why can't they just make Starcraft 2 and make it good. Or are we to be content that Kerrigan is the master of the Universe, and Seige Tanks will forever be loaded into Dropships half their size?

There needs to be another installment in the Skies of Arcadia franchise. Seriously. I liked it better than quite a few FFs, and the world and characters were really enthralling. I personally don't want a sequel...but rather, a prequel starring Daccat. I mean, no matter what Vyse does in SoA, he can only be considered as Daccat's equal. The guy must've done some pretty awesome things, and an adventure starring him would be great.
I'd also like to see another Chrono game. I'm not going to write letters requesting a Chrono Break like some people do, but, seriously, the whole saga is so interesting that I just want more. At the moment, I can't really think of anything else. -------------------- FFIVDS looks awesome, right? Especially the character scans. I mean, look at that CGI scan of Yang. You see it and you just think...badass. And then you look at his polka-dot pants, likely stolen from a Dr. Seuss book. And then you just...shiver. |

How has no one said River City Ransom yet? How awesome would a Wii-based sequel to RCR be? Or any side-scrolling fighter, really, I think the Wii's controls have huge potential in that semi-extinct sub-genre.
Speaking of semi-extinct sub-genres, I would love to see a sequel to Maniac Mansion. I always thought point and click mysteries were underrated.
