I worked today.
My dad was surprised, because even he gets the 4th of July off.

That's ridiculous. The entire campus where I work was shut down for the day, so even if I wanted to work, I couldn't.

No barbeque for me, but we did have a nice cookout. Hots and hams...mmmm. Saw some fireworks at night and then donated a few pints of blood....to the mosquitos. dry.gif

Happy Independence Day to all the Americans here! thumbup.gif

Happy 4th everyone! (Well... Midnight, my 4th is ending now. Oh well.)

I wish you happy celebrations on your big day. Where as we Aussies could care less about our National day. Happy 4th of July.

And we said happy birthday to our corrupt*ahem* perfect government! I was traveling home from a wedding the whole day. I did see Nine Months and The Tuxedo on my portable DVD Player. thumbup.gif

You know what was my IDEAL picture of a perfect 4th of July is? Working all day washing and vaccuming my family's cars for no pay! Man, it was FANTASTIC!

I got stuck in fireworks traffic on the way home from taking my husband to work :-P

There were some nice fireworks, though.

I love the way we Americanised the holiday which symbolizes our fight for freedom.
How do we celebrating? By using it as an excuse to eat unhealthily and pollute the air via pretty, sparkly things.
[/cynicality]
Really though, I enjoyed myself, in the most American sort of way. biggrin.gif

This is America. All convenience stores and restaraunts are open on Independence Day. tongue.gif

...Which meant I had to work my butt off, too. sad.gif

Well, more like slapped it away and then kicked the British in the nads... ... ...but my ancestors came from Germany and Mexico, so I didn't exactly have much to do with that. ^^; Just something about the atomic bomb...

I had fun. I didn't set off any fireworks, but I was playing video games until Monday Night Raw came on and afterwards, I spent all night at the bar. I got a great buzz for our nation's birthday and the morning after!
