Favourites include:

Ranma 1/2 - Rumiko Takahashi is the supreme Goddess of manga, in my mind. ^-^

Love Hina - Cute, funny, interesting characters.

Rurouni Kenshin - It got a little repetitive after a while, but still good.

Magic Knights Rayearth - Very good manga, but I didn't like the tv series.

Inuyasha (haven't finished yet, but I've seen the whole tv series) - See blurb about Ranma 1/2.

Saikano (still in progress) - It's supposed to be one of the saddest stories out there, and it's really gripping.

The Kindaichi Case Files (this is still being written, about 11 books are out, though) - Really good mystery series. Each book is a different mystery that Kindaichi - the grandson of a great detective - solves, usually with his female best friend at his side.

Negima - It has a great plotline (when they get into it) and interesting characters, though they use the panty-shot bit a little too much. And the possible naked female chest bit. I love the female body, but I don't need to see it exposed every few pages, thanks.

DNAngel - Neat series.

Ai Yori Aoshi - Two people are engaged since they were children, then are ripped apart by politics. It's a neat storyline.

Tenchi Muyo! - Classic. I'm not even going to try to explain TM, though. ^-^

Hikaru no Go - This manga made me want to go out and be a master Go player - or master some sort of talent like that, at least. It's very inspirational. And Sai is awesome.

Naruto - How did I forget Naruto? It's great.

Manga series' that have dissapointed me:

Escaflowne - I loved the tv series so much, but the manga just bored me. Van wasn't Van, Hitomi wasn't Hitomi, etc. I know it's not supposed to be exactly the anime, but I still didn't like it.

A.I. Love You - It looked cute, it's by the same person who is responsible for Love Hina and Negima. But something about it just didn't click with me. It's a little too predictable, a little too... I don't know. He missed with this series, in my mind.

.hack//sign - I thought I would like it because I liked the tv series. But, no. I read the first book, I waded through the second thinking it would be better, and I can't be bothered to finish the third.

Yes I am a big fan of Manga. Though I havn't had the money to keep up with the 'scene' or with buying any, so my collection right now is pathetic. Add that to the fact I'm still yet to grab some of my favorite anime films, like I still don't have Ninja Scroll, or Fist of the North, or Mononoke on DVD. So yes. If I get this new job, I'll be able to get into these wonderfull books properly.

Anyone have any reccomendation infact? I like mature ones, with huge swords. And I don't mind lots of text. Infact I prefer them to be like graphic novels.

I like manga, huge fan, but i tend to drift off toward Anime sometimes. Im not saying that its not great or anything, I just like both. Like for anime one show and DVD's is Inuyasha. And for Manga .Hack//Sign.

BASSsic, Try Bleach- its about a guy getting spiritual powers, and his sword starts about, oh, 6 feet long and 3 feet wide. when, in book 6, he bottles his energy for like, 3 secounds, it expands to about , oh, i wanna say, 60 feet high. ut the energy buildup is so huge it....im revealing too much. try it out, it rocks.

Hika, Elena, very nice collections. quite the array, but i got fired recently, so i cannot buy near as much as i used too. see everybody later.

i'm actually falling really far behind on my manga collections.
i am really broke, and it makes me sad that my manga is the first sacrifice of purchases. TT-TT
my next manga will be guru guru ponchan when it finally comes out in america, if it hasn't yet. it's by the same person that does othello. it's really cute. it's about a dog that wants to be human because she fell in love with one. well, the ojii-san makes a bone that can transform her to a human and hijinx ensue. it's very cuuuute.

one that i hope they bring to america soon is parfait tic.
it is such a girly series. XD;

as for stories with big swords...
or just cool stories in general....
parasyte is a cool story, and i've never read it, but ice blade has swords.

and to whomever it was that said they like their manga like graphic novels... well, graphic novels is what some people call manga to begin with. so they're the same thing.

i have to admit, that as much as i love clamp, i didn't really like clover much.
i think it was just too deep for me to understand.

if you DO like the art of clamp, i suggest chobits.
everyone i know that has read or seen it loves it.

I love manga, but I usually have to put off buying it for a couple reasons.

1) I'm broke and buying manga books is even more expensive than buying video games.
2) The big reason. I don't have any place to store my books. I really want to keep my manga in good condition so I want a safe place to store them where they won't get harmed or get dirty. Video games are easier to take care of. They can be left out in the open, collect dust, and perhaps take a liquid spill, all without getting damaged.

Because of that, the only books I have are 3 Cowboy Bebop manga and the complete set of Love Hina manga. I'm interested in every manga I see, especially the love/comedy ones, but I put off getting them because I know if I get them now I won't be able to take care of them.

Beyond Otomo's Domu, I don't really have any manga. It's just not readily available, and like Ruj, I don't have the cash for 'em. That and I'm not much for common manga anyway. Eventually I hope to grab Alita and Akira.

I don't currently own any manga of my own, but I've read one online and downloaded the other.

My favorite out of the two is "The Violinist of Hameln." It's just soo funny!

The other one I've read is "Full Moon wo Sagashite." This one is really pretty, and it has a kind of sad story.

Full Moon Wo Sagashite is an amazing story.
It's very very very sad, actually. TT-TT
I think the woman that did that also did Kaze Kaito Jeanne or something of that nature.
Where did you find the scanalations for that? Does it have the whole series, or just part of it? I only ever managed to find up to the most critical part of the story, and then it looked like the translators just stopped to spite me.

I've read all of Fushigi Yuugi and Sailor Moon (but in French). I'm having a devil of a time figuring out how many volumes there are in Magic Knights Rayearth (I have the first four), and I'm up through volume 3 of Kenshin.

Other than that, I've read bits and pieces of other things, but nothing fun enough to justify anywhere from $10 a volume and up.

Magic Knight Rayearth has 6 volumes.
However all six were released twice.
The first releases read left to right, and aren't translated closely to the Japanese version.
The second releases read from right to left, and follow the language about as perfectly as a translation can. I have both versions, and the difference is actually HUGENORMOUS.

Plus there are two art books out.
Hooray.

Manga that is good and cheaper than most would be the Shounen Jump manga. Naruto, Hikaru no Go, and One Peice all go for I think 7.95 a book.

When did they start a manga for FF Unlimited? I knew there was an anime...
