Im playing on the PC, and Im trying to get the green and blue chocobos. I've got together two greats and two goods (m/f of each), raised each to A/S class (greats I was able to sneak into S class BARELY, but the goods are stuck in A).

After about twenty matings between different pairs, the ONLY type of chocobo that I am able to get is a male green chocobo... I've tried fighting battles, racing, swapping materia, resetting (repeatedly), purchasing/selling equipment... but the ONLY one that I'll get from any pairings is a male green chocobo. Anyone know how to increase the randomization of this, so maybe I'll get something.. different?

well, on my first try breeding chocobos, i got a green out of one pair, and a green out of the other pair - then i waited a bit, and mated the 2nd pair again and got a blue - all i can say is ya gotta keep going at it - it took me 10 tries to get a gold chocobo my first run around, but only 1 try the 2nd - just follow the chocobo breeding guide on this site, i got all the chocobos easily, that way

Well, this isnt my first time breeding chocobos (my fourth, iirc), but Ive never had such bad luck with chocobos. No matter what pairs I chose, they WOULDNT produce anything else (that post was after the first 20 or so tries, after that I kept count for another 25). Finally, I let ALL four of them go, captured four more, and on the first try, I got a male blue chocobo. Then it was just a matter of mating the male blue with the female great, cross fingers, and out comes a female blue!!!

Now, Im back on course once again, and things are peachy.

*nods* Every once in a while you just get a run of purely bad luck, and there's nothing you can do about it but let the game torture you until you finally get what you want.

I don't think I've ever had trouble breeding chocobos. I guess I'm just idiosyncratic.
