I was playing FF4 today and I just thought...Man,it would be cool if they would make a map maker with objects and sprites from FF4...I just thought it would be fun if you could buy/get for free one of those,it would be so cool..What I want to know,do any of you know if there are any available in the US,and if so,how much do they cost,or do you know if they're planning to make any yet?
As always, thank you for your replies and have a nice day. ![]() |

Not to sound rude, but what are you talking about?
![]() If all's you want to do is make a map for decorative purposes, just about any image editing software will do. Take tiles from the game, sprites; hunt around for rips on the internet if you can't make them yourself. Then just get copy-pasting. ![]() If you mean to walk around on, hell, there are many "game maker" programs out there. RPGMaker 2000 should be enough to suit your needs. But if you really want to make a man of yourself (on a game developement level, that is ![]() ![]() Do note that FF4 is copyright material. If anyone were to sell anything from FF4, they'd get shot down by Square's lawyers faster than I did when I tried biking off my roof last summer. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

RuneLancer, I think what he was asking was if anybody made a tile editor for FFIV alone. One like the world map editor in FF3Edit...yes, the unbelievably glitchy one that basically destroys the ROM.
To answer your question, DCnK, to the best of my knowledge, there does not exist a tile editor for FFIV. World map, or any map data for that matter, is compressed and never to be uncompressed again. It is very difficult to edit this without glitching the ROM forever and ever, hence the lack of working editors that do the job. If you're playing on the console and that on the computer, which I suspect you are, you might as well give up all hope. There is no chance of there existing a program where you can edit the world map on the actual cartridge. If I'm mistaken as well and answered a different question, I'm sorry, but I think that might have cleared something up. ![]() -------------------- Is PJ |
