I've recently found this. Fun little flash game where you run around and blow up flying things with 30-odd weapons.

"Ah, yeah. Well, it's been done, dude."

Yeah, it has. But this game does it even better. The graphics are STUNNING. None of that ugly Paint-like stuff. Real sprites with quality stages that look like something straight out of an SNK Metal Slug implementation.

All's you do is try to take down as many helicopters as you can in a pretty big stage. The large helicopters from level 3-4. My max is 17. I usually do around 10 though.

That is quite good. I played the others, but this one seems easier. Using the keyboard and the mouse was never easy for me, but hey, what can you do? I'm currently on level 4-2, but my eyes are dry beyond dry, so I'm going to bed, to continue tomorrow.

Bow and Arrow is definitely the best weapon in the game. I took out those huge helis on level 3-4 with it...using only B&A. What a weapon!

Knife is a close second, only because there is nothing like knifing a helicopter. Granted you have to triple jump up to it and then suicide some of your life away to get a good shot, but it is worth it to knife the last helicopter in a level!:pirate:

I tried knifing choppers but never managed to get close enough. My weapon of choice remains the sound gun (earned near the end) and the flamethrower. Although the black hole gun tends to take out two huge choppers in one shot, so...

Little hint, you can jump through the floor in some places by holding down and hitting the modify key. You can get the sparkshot weapon in leve 2-3 (IIRC) like that. Also, the gun in the tutorial stage (you can see it near the four red aliens if you high-jump) is worthless. You need to be close to use it. Only one weapon's worse: the goo gun, which does less damage and has the same range minus the spread.

Just made it to the final level, SL. My record is 21 kills so far. The first 5 were with Bow and Arrow before I found Soundwaave, Anytime, Black Hole Generator, Rocket Launcher, RPG, etc.

Truly a great game. I am addicted.

Ha! I just whomped your best, SL! First try of the "night", too. I was gonna play 'till 11, but I decided it would be pointless since I would never beat that score. So in 296 seconds, I destroyed 36 helis for a score of just over 2 million, 2,065,000. Unfortunately, my screenshot isn't current, but it does have me about to destroy a copter at 32 kills with an A-bomb.



There is certainly something to be said for the Bow and Arrow. I always start off with 5 kills with the trusty Bow, and then move to whatever I picked up. Fortunately for me, I picked up a Soundwaave, two A-Bomb Launchers, two AutoLaser Rifles, some ShotgunLasers, a Seeker, ShotgunRockets, and a BlackHoleGenerator. More than enough to bag 36 kills.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I picked up these two ridiculous power-ups. The first was something like Time Slip...sorta like the special ability you have, except this was not controllable and was activated once I picked it up. The second was called "Tridamage" and did triple the damage. Shotgun Lasers + Tridamage = instakill. There's like 10 kills on its own. What luck!

very nice! very addictive, though it may be sued by metal slug for being too much like it one thing though, I don't think you remember correctly Silverlance. Looked all over and couldn't find anything. Great game all the same! My favourite weapon so far has to be the taser. Funny as hell!

Well, it may not be 2-3. But the ground is particularly more detailled than in the other stages, and there's a rectangular "hole" surrounded by branches with one side that can be shot at in that stage.

Here's a list of the weapons you can pick up.

Possible spoilers: highlight to view

Flak Gun: Tutorial stage. Above the second set of red alien balls. Hyper-jump and hold left as you jump. Then as you reach the apex of your jump, fire up the thing that slows time (you want to slow yourself down to make it to the platform.) The flak gun shoots a short-ranged burst of white particles and, while it does decent damage, the range and spread make it very hard to use properly.

Spark Shot: First level, stage... 4 I think? You can simply drop down somewhere and grab it. Hold down and hit the modifier key (enter I think?) over and over until you drop. You can see the gun's box in some places when you're crouched. The spark shot fires a set of two waving balls which do decent damage.

Goo gun: Second level, stage 3 or 4...? No, 2! Same deal as the spark shot; you can drop down from a branch or bridge somewhere. This gun is crap: it fires like a grenade, but sticks to the ground and explodes after a while. Weak, slow, and hard to aim.

I think I'm missing one, forgot where I picked it up. There's also a chaingun in the tutorial level, if you shoot at the left wall after the first ladder (yes yes, experiment, you'll find it. )

I doubt I'll ever beat Caesar's ungodly high chopper-killing score, though I suggest we start a time attack: tutorial to stage X (time stops at stage X since it's infinite.)

Final little tidbit: you have unlimited use of the time ability thingies in the tutorial level. Try using the one that stops time and firing the heck out of your guns.

Ahhh! I knew I forgot one!! The soundwave gun is one of the best weapons in the game. It fires rapidly, does lots of damage, and every pickup gives you a good 30 or so of 'em. It gets the RuneLancer seal of approval!

It's also the only special weapon really worth getting. The sparkshot comes in as a close second, but the goo gun and the flak cannon are an utter disappointment...

Caesar, I bow down to you. You are, truly, a master. I couldn't even come close to 20 lately, much less 30. But I'm not giving up! Sooner or later, I'll pick up 2-3 conscecutive A-Bombs and Black Hole guns and wipe the floor with a few dozen choppers.

The best weapon, by far, RuneLancer, is any form of the Laser Rifle. Shotgun Lasers, AutoLaserRifle, and Laser Rifle are incredible, especially when you pick up the "Tridamage" powerup. A-bomb and BlackHoleGenerator are good, yes, but I like to work for my kills a little more.

Now it's time to see if I can better my score.

Well...that's it. 55 kills. Not too bad, but I had to go back to using the trusty Bow and Arrow for awhile, since I ran out of things to use. Well, I had 4 rounds of Airstrike, but that is clearly the worst weapon in the game. Favorite weapons:

Any form of laser
Chain gun
Bow and Arrow

I couldn't get past the desert area,but on Heli Attack 2,my record is a measly 43 helicopterrs downed. =/

I'm not sure if the bump is allowed, but I thought I'd take this oppurtunity to post my new high score, after picking up the game today for the first time in weeks.

Not bad. I died with 4 Anytime shots left, 3 A-Bombs, and a handful of ShotgunLasers. So frustrating...I should've had at least 100, but I accidentally hit jump instead of duc, and, well, that was all she wrote.

I'm sorry for the bump, everybody, but I had to share my new score and predicament.

Bad news first, just to keep the suspense. I have achieved approximately 300% of the high score for both the day and month (apparently, the week is higher...whatever), but when I went to submit my score, it said "High score database failed! Please try again". Of course, I couldn't try again, since the option to submit my score was no longer there. I did take a picture for proof of my score, though, since it is unbelievable. Anyways, is there any way for me to get it up there now? I was thinking about emailing shockwave or something to let them know what happened 'cause damnit I want that score up there.

...but then I realized that shockwave is a very big company/organization/thingy, and that they prolly wouldn't care. Any suggestions?

Well, I promised not to update unless I doubled my old score of, I believe, 190 kills. I think I fulfilled that. Please feast your eyes on this score and beg for mercy:



I got so many garbage items. By the time I killed myself (yea, I cut it off at 600 kills since I didn't want to play any longer and since I have become immortal...I didn't take damage until 212 kills, and from 350 kills onward), I had 1300 rounds of Machine Gun ammo left, and 450 grenades. I hate those weapons. Time Break = immortality.
