Well, yesterday was a strange one o.o
The enemy party consisted of.... (All lev. 48 - 53) 1 Knight 1 Squire 1 Chemist 1 Archer 1 Wizard 1 Priest(ess) (Female) I basically sat that for 5 minutes staring at this rediculous team, it's like attack of the novice characters o.o Of course, against a team consisting of a Samurai (Ramza), Lancer (Rico), Time Mage/Wizard (Oslan), Wizard (Celia) and Monk/Ninja (Kayli) they were stomped in about 4 - 6 turns ^-^ This wasn't hard, just weird as hell o.o This post has been edited by Strife543 on 14th March 2005 19:21 -------------------- Link: "What is it?" I have had a few of these encounters but when I think of ridiculous is when I get into a battle against a bunch of monsters (i.e. goblins, bombs, and panthers) and one human, usually a time mage. WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING OUT THERE? WHAT IS HE DOCTOR DOLITTLE?

The other day I was playing FFT and got into a random encounter, saw about 4 monks while the screen rotated around, no big deal huh? Will after the camera stopped panning and I got the full view I was actually facing around 12 MONKS!!! Absolutely no other monster involved, just them 12. Sure enough after a couple of turns everyone was either dead, critical or Death Sentenced. So has anyone ever faced a huge group of attackers similar to this?

I think there was another thread like this.
Anyways, yes it has happened to me. Many of the battlefields have random uber battles like that one. Bariaus Hill has a 3 chocobo, 3 behemoth, and 3 hydra battle. Araguay Woods has a ninja battle. they're all over, and they're evil |

This thread answers your question exactly. Wow, a triple post. I'm impressed. I had a battle exactly like that, with twelve monks on Grog Hill. Luckily, whenever I train characters, I take on three to train and two supporting characters to take the brunt of their training attacks, and in case I run in to a battle like this.

Hence the reason I always have at least one guy with blade grasp set. No sweat.

Quote (sax_russell_the_green @ 9th February 2005 13:14) My favorite always was getting caught with my pants down in Araguay Woods fighting a pack of ninjas with no Catch ability. Try as I might, that is always a tough (and usually suicidal) battle. Uruguy Woods. A female ninja named Nina and her pack of roving male ninjas. Everyone in my party training as priest. Forgot to save for a while. I was filled with such a thirst for revenge that I went looking for them although it was a random battle. ![]() |

I've been in the 16 monk battle twice. I can't remember the name of the place where it happens, but it is where you fight the deserters. As far as I can tell it's impossible, because the monks constantly use chakra. I'm not saying that you can't win, but I didn't, and I had a crazy good team. I AM saying that you probably can't win without losing one or two people.
As for the Barius Hill super monster battle, i've never been in it, but let's just say I know enough about it to save after every battle. |

It's eleven monks, not sixteen. The reason it's eleven is because the maximum amount of units in battle is sixteen, and you get five.

Black Chocobos, Red Chocobos and Vampires, but it can't recall the name of the field it,s just beside Warjilis (not the deep donjon of course).
Really, I don't think I had any chance with young chars taht were being inflicted stop, petrify, chocobo ball were being thrown at them, and meteorites were falling of the sky. ![]() For the battle against the 11 monks: Get a monk with Earth slash, who will do enough damage to one hit kill them. Equip him/her a vanish mantle, secret clothes or Setiemson if it's a girl. Test your luck by trying to get the proper battle. Then wait up a few turns (being invisible) and watch them scared from a ghost, when stop moving from square to square, get in the end of the line and use Earth Slash, the game will lag during the skill. Enjoy ![]() You should be able to kill 8 monks that way, 3 left to go, don't tell me you can't do it... -------------------- Sayonara |

My most ridiculous battle that I have ever been in is as follows:
I went to Zekulus Desert, wanting to battle, the thirst of blood driving me. ![]() ![]() -------------------- "There is not a liberal America and a conservative America - there is the United States of America. Quote (TaintedWeapon @ 22nd February 2005 21:20) Weird, in Zeklaus Desert I had a guest Level 93 Knight on my team against one Bull Demon, but they just combatted amongst themselves. I didnt even get to hit the Bull Demon because the Knight murdered him. Go figure. yea, I've seen that fight before. at first, I just watched them fight each other, then the bull deman won that fight and I had to go in and take it out. another battle happened in my favorite battle ground, Mandalia Plains and I fought a dragon vs dragon battle. and the green dragons are the ally group and the other dragons are red and blue ones. and I had Reis in the fight and had got 2 out of 4 of the dragons on my side. My most ridiculous fight ever was at the waterfall, it's where you run into those squid head guys. They seem to cast Brain Wave (some attack with that sort of name) that beserks/confuses your troops, and it's just chaos from there out. Not to mention the height challenges and the water. I remember being there, and it had been quite a while since I saved, and vainly trying to restore some sort of sanity. I failed.

Most rediculous fight: About my 4th time playing through the game, I screwed around and borrowed my friends gameshark and did the instant level up. All my guys were level 99 at Finath river. I just deleted the game. After about 10 tries, I realized...I CAN'T get past level 99 Chocobo's. It's like trying to stop a runaway freight train by hand, but more futile. Guess that doesn't quite count as random.
for most rediculous random battle... Lesalia plains? I think that was it. 7 enemies, all human, all vastly overequipped in comparison (Two theives, one knight, don't remember the rest) to my guys. Well, actually, my girls. Being a total goob, I run around with Ramza and his hitsquad of Kunoichi. Sad part is...I beat most battles in like 3 turns... So here's how this played out out. Moved, got in two attacks on the knight that looked at me funny for my efforts, lost two ninja's immediately to theives (I hate you steal heart...I hate you. Why couldn't you damn theives be women!?). Next turn, my two Ninja's that weren't stolen were killed, and Ramza got into a slug-fest with the Knight, killing him. (I had Hamedo, and the sucker actually tried a break ability...HA!) And my Ninja's...they tried to kill me dammit, not a jury in the world would convict me! All said and done, about 12 turns in, I FINALLY killed everything, but lost my hitsquad of Kunoichi, and realized that Ramza just kicks butt. Probably because unlike the Ninja-chicks, he was on par with the enemies level, AND had useful abilities for the fight(Did I mention that knight had catch? My fault for not paying attention, but that sword was spendy!). But these super-battles you guys are going on about? Scary stuff. I need to spend more time running around I suppose. Maybe after I get Beo in my party I can take em. Never lost a fight with Beo, though oddly enough, I've lost one with TG Cid. I think that took skill to pull off.. -------------------- There is life after you've been to hell and back. The most wonderous of life. heh, maybe next time we try to train our weak troops, make sure they have a powerful unit like Orlandu and Agrias to protect them from stronger enemies.
the best place to train your weaker units is at Mandalia. there is a good chance that you'll find some weaklings to kill. (and even guests units who will help you in the battle) in facted, I even got a super Rafa in my roster. Equip her with ether Glacier Gun, Blaze Gun, or a Blast Gun and she'll show just how deadly she can really be. This post has been edited by Mewmon on 23rd June 2005 13:36 |
