I thought it was OK by normal standards, below average by Batman standards.

A couple of things I didn't like:

1. Batman's morals made no sense. His ethics wouldn't allow him to kill a murderer, but he killed a bunch of ninjas he'd trained with for months, maybe years, without hesitation.

2. They used the same filming technique for the fight scenes as Alien vs. Predator: film everything in close up, add sound effects, and everyone will assume there is a battle going on, thus avoiding the need to choreograph an actual fight.

In general, I didn't enjoy the action. Most of Batman's scenes involved him swallowing someone up in his cape. The movie was enjoyable, but overall I would rank it below the Tim Burton movie.

Did anyone else see it and feel the same/differently?

Nope, it's the best Batman movie yet! The action scenes WERE a little weak, but everything else was WAY awesome. And he didn't kill the Ninjas, he just fought them. The only klling he did when he blew up the house (or at least I assume they died)

Those are the ninjas I'm talking about, the League of Shadows and the "Ra's Al Ghul" at the start of the movie.

I was more worried about the life of that criminal. Bruce spared him, risking his own life, and what does he do? Destroys the house around him. Does the poor criminal get out?

I liked the movie overall, but I prefer the older Batman movies.

Batman displayed his ethics code quite fine at the end of the movie and it was nice and consistent.

"I'm not gonna kill you, but I don't have to save you either."

He wasn't going to kill the criminal by his own hand, but if he dies as a result of Bruce's escape so be it.

I liked the style they choose for the fighting too. Rather then choreograph out most of the fighting with the little grunts, they chose to make it fast and confusing, which is how I would imagine criminals feel when they encounter Batman. It was a little disorienting, but hey, I enjoyed the movie thoroughly and am not going to nitpick to that degree.

I'd definitely rank this as my favorite batman movie of all time. I thought his ethics were consistent. There were some nice plot twists (not too predictable but not wholly unbelievable). There were a few lines I disliked, but overall it was well written, acted, etc.

The action was REALLY hard to follow. Close-ups and fast-motion really don't work too well together, I guess.

And I see what you're getting at with your other points too; though overall I thought it was a GREAT movie--wouldn't mind watching it again at all.
And would definitely recommend it to those who have yet to watch it.

I read somewhere about someone complaining about the action, and at this point I haven't seen it yet, but when I saw it I had to agree. Everything was quick, shaky and very noisey, but I will say that if I was to be in a fight like that everything would be quick, shakey and noisey but it just doesn't work well when someone else is watching the action scene. But is it a great movie? Yes it was. Better than Tim Burton's? Nah, I just barely finished watching the first Batman movie and I still love it. Over all this is how it comes down to with me.

Second Favorite Batman Movie: Batman Begins

The other two are good, but not among my favorites.

I DO give credit that they didn't do the cliche sequels and just ended them with 2, 3 but rather Batman Returns. Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. 'Nuff said.

The action scenes were really the only parts that I didn't like because of the close-up fighting. However I think that given the opportunity, any of the actors that participated in the battles, would rather it have had a father away camera shot. Besides, Christian Bale kicked butt in Equilibrium.

As far as the "wrapping cloak around person and wisking them up" was kind of a cool feature. It made you use your imagination as to how he would fight the thugs.

Overall though, I thought it was the best movie I've seen in a long time (that didn't last 3+ hours) and if it didn't cost $9 each time, I'd see it again.

Whether or not the action was weak or not the movie itself was excellent. The cast was awsome.

Liam Neason - Ras Al Guels Crony
Katsumoto from the last Samurai - Ras Al Guel

I think those four are most excellent actors. And I thought that Batman Begins was the best Batman movie yet.

I particularly liked Cillian Murphy as the Scarecrow, too. Overall, however, I think this is pretty much the best superhero film I've seen, period. It dealt with his becoming Batman in a thoroughly thought-out way, and while I'd have liked to have seen more one-on-one fighting on Batman's part, it's still a pretty excellent film, and a pretty nice take on the whole thing.

I have to agree with this comment and this is one of the best superhero movies I've ever seen. Simply superb.

It's a tough call as to say if it beats the original two... I think it does but it's close. Brilliant, I went in expecting it to be extremely impressive and I wasn't dissapointed.

To be honest I reckon this movie is a master piece. Well done indeed. I wonder if they will make a sequel.
