well after searching for hours for a topic about my problem, i decided to make my own. Wiegraf guards against every single one of my attacks! does this normally happen? he seems to have a 100% evade rate, no magic or physical attacks hit him, none of my party can steal from him or break his weapon, its a nightmare and im stuck sad.gif

Have you tried attacking him from the sides?

First of all, which mission are you on? You battle Wiegraf multiple times.

Second of all, attack from the sides and rear, and see if you can use attacks with a 100% hit rate, like Draw Out or Summon. If it's too early in the game for that, just attack en masse.

Ummm...no, that is NOT normal. I've NEVER seen a 100% evade rate. Even Friggin Elmdor gets hit from the front on occasion! If he has a 100% evade rate, something is VERY VERY VERY wrong.

He does not have a 100% evade rate.

It sounds like you are too low in level when facing him, or don't have an effective setup for your party. As the one ahead of me said, when and where are you fighting Weigraf?

im fighting him on windmill hill, for the 1st time, and my party level is 15 average (ramze is level 17), attacking him from the sides and back does nothing, it just says 'guarded' EVERY time i hit him. its doin my head in!!!!!!!! my formation is fine: a monk, 2 black mages, a knight, and a squire (delita).

If it's the FIRST time you fight him, strip him of everything he has and remove his skills...

You're thinking of Algus, Dragon Warrior. You can't unequip Weigraf and remove his skills, because he is never a guest in your party.

Bladada, you say you have two black mages? Why aren't they using offensive magic against Weigraf, then? I've never seen a magic attack from a BM dodged.....

They can be dodged, though.

And Bladada, something has got to be messed up in your game. You're more than a high enough level to be taking him on, so most likely it's an internal problem.

not algus- gafgarion, doing that to algus would have no effect seeing as how he completely changes from when he leaves your party to when he fights you at zeakden.

and something is obviously wrong with your game then, because that shouldn't be happening, wiegraf is a wus. (even the third time you fight him) if you're prepared. and you aren't all that far into the game, so starting over wouldn't be all that bad.

You're right, King Delita. I ws thinking of Algus because I always unequip him before he leaves for good. Might as well get something back from him, after all the trouble he causes you, eh? happy.gif

I know what you mean - I hated algus so much it was ridiculous.

Have you tried summon magic?, seriously he can't evade any of your attacks...but I believe you, anything could happen...you can get the ability Concentrate ( Archer), I can't give you any hint that could be useful , because I never been in such a situation...but If you use Reflect spell?, y'know ..send the magic to any of your character , and the spell will be reflected the same numbers of squares it was sended, in the direction where your reflected character is facing...or use Dash, that's a squire ability that is 100% sure succeed...., this might be ambitious...but maybe it's your last hope.., use the ability "Meatbone Slash" ( Samurai ability), if you are "near fatal", you deliver a fatal blow ( which is equal to the difference between your Max HP and your current HP.), if he can evade that, maybe you should restart...I don't know, I hope you post a topic saying: Holy Hashmalum! I defeated him!! hurray!...seriously.

Trust me, you're not the only one who has problems with evasion at the Wind Mill. It seems like he has supernatural evade to me as well, albeit I don't seem to recall it being a 100% deal. Combine that with his distanced attacks and somewhat decent move rate and he can be killer. My suggestion, take out his Death Corp. cohorts first and focus mainly on just staying alive. Eventually you'll be able to wiggle yourself into a favorable position so you can attempt to beat on the wannabe Holy Knight. However, he'll still be killer with the evade and could conceivably take out the entire party on his own. Attacking from the sides and back does help whenever possible but not by much. I personally prefer bonking him on Wiegief on the head myself, despite there not being actually being much if any of a difference.

Also, you guys have summons by that time? I generally don't even have a single summoner until Barius Hill. (I'm almost certain that's not spelled right. . .)

I liked to move a summoner behind the windmill shed and cast Odin. Wiegraf will sometimes draw too near for comfort and he gets smoked. Alternatively, you could steal his sword so he can't use any of his White Knight skills and then go after his Barbuta and other equipment.

I ALWAYS eliminate that annoying Boco, first and foremost. Then I allow Delita to do his own thing (not that there's much choice, right?) and I send in physical fighters to combat the Knight and Monks and hope that they survive Weigraf's Crush Punch and heal in time before they're goners and I bring in two mages restore the injured and put up a magical offense against Weigraf. He guards against some of my Fire, Bolt, and Ice spells, too. I get lucky, somehow tongue.gif

I've also never had much trouble with Wiegraf... Someone mentioned concentrate, which is a sure hit then. Also try using earth slash (monk), which can't be blocked unless you're floating... which he is not tongue.gif
