dunno much about em's, but I'd say for the full fun of FFVII, you gotta play PS1. The joy of the game is completely lost if you're hitting 'del' to boost your chocobo or 'space' to omnislash the crap out of something. PS1 all the way...

i have the ps1 version, and the computer version - it looks MUCH better on the tv (regardless of the quality of the tv) then it does on the computer - think its pixellated now? try it on the comp, its scary pixellated
but also, raphe is right, you gont get the same experience on the comp as you do on the PS - i only got the comp version because my ps version was all used up, thanks to younger siblings (scratches galore)
but i did finally find a store that sold the ps version happy.gif

I got the PC version 'cause I didn't have a PS (not an emulator, the actually "FFVII PC" game).

I have the PS version and the PC version. I play the PS version because I think console games are best played on a console. Sometimes play the PC version just to mess with the trainers but that gets boring, you have as much money as you need by disc 3 without cheating anyway, plus you get W-Item then. smile.gif

PC + control pad + 3D acceleration >>>>> PS1.

The slight flaw being that it's nearly impossible to get 3D acceleration working with FF7 on a modern PC.

Played both, preferred the PC for the sharper graphics and reduced translation stupidity.

Bought it for my PS1, and, though I have played it on my PS2 in the past, it all goes a bit pear-shaped if I stick it in there now, so I have to resort to the PS1 once more.

I'm playing the PC version. Complete with crash bugs.

And yes, I noticed "He is really sick" in the slums in the PC version.

I played it on the PS1 like most people.
I also had a problem when trying to play it on the PS2 sometimes. The memory cards would keep formatting themsleves constantly. Man I hate those PS1 memory cards.

I didn't know the PC version was that different, sounds interesting.

I own a PS2, but I still play PS1 games on my PS1 tongue.gif . I owned the PC version for awhile before giving it to a friend (I've only had a PS1 since 2000) and played through it; I have to say that I remember the PS1 version being better in every respect, even if it may have been my computer's fault.

I have the PS version that I play on the PS2. The controls were a little confusing, since this is the only FF game where the X button means "go back" and O means "select". It took a while to get used to.

FF IV and VI on the SNES and FF Tactics on the PS1 were like that as well (with the right button being confirm and the left button being cancel), I'm pretty sure that VIII/Anthology were the first FF games to go to that style, which is pretty much the standard for RPGs nowadays. I dunno about the rest of you, but it took me ages to get used to hitting X/B instead of Circle/A.

I don't play FF7 anymore, the translation is so screwed up it hurts my brain to read and try to comprehend wtfever they were talking about.

Those big swords that Cloud uses and his suggestive stance are pretty humorous though. I'm pretty sure that that was an intended innuendo.

Now the story's played out like this. Just like a paperback novel. Let's rewrite an ending that fits.

I'm playing the PSX version of PS2 'cuz my original Playstation is history, so I bought a PS2 and it's what I use to play my PS1 games.
