My parents recently purchased a new television. It's great and all, except, when I hook up my playstation to it, the games appear in black and white only. I've tried routing it through both the TV and the VCR, nothing. I've tried adjusting the color settings in the menu, nothing. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered such a problem and whether anyone had any poss. solutions.

Wow, that's... weird. I've never heard of something like that happening, sorry.

Is your PS PAL or NTSC?

Is the TV PAL or NTSC?

What frequency is the TV on? Can it do both the required for PAL/NTSC?

What wires you using? SCART?

Have you put the TV onto AV1/2 or tuned it in properly (whichever is applicable).

All of those could be good reasons, but I don't think they'd make someone's TV go black and white when playing videogames. I don't know a whole bunch about TVs, but it seems like most of those problems would just cause either graphical problems, OR it just wouldn't work at all. But hey, never hurts to check.

Well, when using the RCA cables with my Playstation, AV1 is B&W, and AV2 is the proper display. So tongue.gif
