HUZZAH!
I have done it...a trivia thread for the general topics section!
The rules are exactly like the other trivia threads, except that a couple things change:

--The questions can range anywhere from Movies (i.e. release dates, specific facts, etc) to real life current-events (i.e. the tsunami, Torah down the toilet, Facts on these events, etc) to other games aside from final fantasy (i.e. Grand theft auto, Warcraft 3, facts on any games like these, etc.). You can post other things besides these topics, but first, label them correctly, and make sure they are legit, so that it is not only you who can answer it, and everybody else is scratching their future bald heads wondering and saying "what the @#$% is the answer", ultimately ending up in a spasm of angst on the ground. wacko.gif

--SUGGESTION-after answering, give the person asking the question a bit to find or confirm the answer, since the topic being questioned is within a broad range.

--PLEASE-In your post when you ask the question, state a category. Say whether you are referring to a MOVIE, GAME, or LIFE. this is because many times, games and movies can cross, like in star wars games and movies, or other movies and games too.

Simply put, this trivia thread is exactly like the other Trivia threads in the Finalfantasy sections, but with a wider range of possible questions. This helps to keep the thread rolling along when it is involving real life, since new things happen every day. So kids, be sure you watch the news or ask your parents on details about the real life events if you have no clue on them.

Oh yeah, and have fun with it, DAWG thumbup.gif

As my first act as mayor of dis town, i, mayor quimby, shall pronounce this day to be forever "CoN day" (no reference to the instrument makers whatsoever), and throw out the first question to the first one to post.

First come, First Serve, ya'll laugh.gif

So it's only movies, current events, and games? Oh man, you guys have no idea what a can of worms you opened up (hint: it's named laszlow). I'll start.

What msuical instrument is Alfred Hitchcock carrying on to a train in his trademark cameo appearance in Strangers on a Train? If you haven't seen that movie, then you should rent it immediately after googling the answer or something.

Also, why do I get the idea that this thread is going to have a mod-enforced closing before the day's over?

What do you have to do to make the watermelon appear in Legendary Frog's "Twins" spoof from "The Matrix still has you" flash collaboration?

Aren't these only supposed to be movies and games trivia? If I knew it was sports as well, I'd have been all over it.

Anyways, the Rangers were founded sometime in the 1870s or 1880s. I'll guess 1878?

1873.

Actually, isn't there some sort of thing like the team started in 1872, but not official until the next year?

Yay! Finally!

Yes, 1873. Team was actually set up in '72 but the club (IE the buisness around the team) was set up in 1873.

Your turn, Bahamut0013.

The Commandant of the Marine Corps has a custom licence plate on his offical car. What numbers are on it?

OK, then, too hard.

What is the licence plate on the President's limo?

(FYI, the CMC's plate was 1775, the birthday of the Corps, even older than than nation itself)

It's been 8 days with no correct answers so it's up for grabs, and the answer was Austin Aries and as 3 days ago is CM Punk.

I know it was August 31st, 1997 in the US, because one of my friends actually waited outside of Funcoland on the release date for it, but for Japan it's probably a few months earlier. I'm guessing January 1997.

I am actually going to guess November of 1996, because i remember reading about it coming out some november, and 1996 seems enough transition time to carry the game from Japan as a hit to American translated version.

My guess is November of 1996
