Hey guys. I have a question for you.
What is, in your opinion, the best moment in FFVI? I would have to say Possible spoilers: highlight to view during the Cataclysm, when the world was being destroyed. When I was first playing through the game, I really didn't expect this to happen. I was like OMGWTF!! That had to be one of the greatest moments in a Final Fantasy, to me. Most chilling: Kefka and the final betrayal.
Most gratifying: seeing Kefka's final form, hearing the music, and kicking his ass. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. First and foremost, the opera house scene. It certainly wasn't the darkest or most stunning moment in the game, but it was wonderful in its own right. Another one of my favorites is
Possible spoilers: highlight to view Gestahl's death at the hands of Kefka. Now THAT was a turning point. -------------------- |

My favorite: Sabin and Cyan washing up onto the Veldt with Gau inspecting them and freaking out when they wake up. It's such a unique scene and seeing Gau for the first time is exciting. It means it's almost time to pick up the best character in the game in my opinion.

Hmmm my favourite episode's of the game would include:
Locke escaping South Figaro Searching Zozo Infiltrating Vector Great moments? Possible spoilers: highlight to view Terra morphing into her esper form for the first time The first time Sabin meets Gau's father Any and all dreams of Shadow The Atma encounters The final scene (with the breaking capsules) in the esper-extraction-plant in Vector You'll notice, that all these scenes and episodes (except maybe Shadow's dreams) are in the WoB. I like the WoR, but the WoB part has more storyline to itself, whereas the WoR has more of a climax-encounter atmosphere. -------------------- "I fell off the mountain of words at around the 10,000ft mark. The opera scene, hands down.
I also have to agree with the Ultimate Betrayal and Plot Twist. Definitely the most climactic scene in the series, in my opinion. I also really like Sabin's scenario as well as the Imperial banquet scenes. The latter, if nothing else, is because the five-year-old in me likes to make my party go into the prison area and use the toilets. I usually have Terra as my leader at that point, so once she jumps off the toilet and it flushes, I immediately walk her to the nearby sink outta impulse. Of course, you can't use the sink, which to this day still makes me shout "Terra, wash your damn hands!!" -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. i90east, I agree. I remember playing FF3 10 years ago, such a young little dork, and I got to the part you said. My mom yelled that it was time for bed, so I had to save right then, and all night, I wondered, "What's he going to be like? I bet he'll be cool." And you gotta love that music!
Also - - when you're in Albrook, and Locke sees Celes for the first time in a while, and they have that little scene. I actually used to keep a save file right before that point so I could show it to friends when they came over. Looking at the scene now, it's really not all that interesting, but when you consider I named Celes after me and Locke after this guy that I had a crush on, it makes more sense. Cyan's Dream!
But seriously, it's probably Zozo for me. I love the whole town, the plot twists there, the music... everything about Zozo is great. |

Daryl's Tomb. You go deeper and deeper underground, and see Setzer's memories of Daryll. Then, you reach the airship, it rises up into the sky, and "Searching For Friends" starts playing. I don't know if that's the first time it plays, but that's the first time I noticed it. It's such an inspirational scene, and it finally seems like you have a chance of stopping Kefka.

Sabin and Edgar's coin scene flash back.
It made me tear up. And to think of everything else that happened during those 10 years that Sabin left... Possible spoilers: highlight to view Relm may or may not been born, Shadow was still Clyde, Rachel and Daryl were still around, Terra and Celes were probably with the Empire,... etc. (and 10 years ago happened to be just around when I first played the game, wee) |

I can't pick just one. My favourite moments are when Locke busts Celes out of prison; Kefka's tantrum in the desert ("Ahem...there's SAND on my boots!"); and Locke's comic relief on the ship to Thamasa ("Urk!").

You guys forgot abt...ULTROS!
Well, although he could be ridiculously irritating at times, he was funny too... And he was also everywhere. I agree abt Daryl's Tomb and Cyan's Dream... ... : D The Phantom Train too, do you know that in this Chinese legend, they have the train too <well the cartoon that was adapted from the legend has it>. The train that spirits board to get reborn again, they'll also have to drink soup so they can forget about their past life and move on. Another of my favourite would be when Celes wakes up alone... The theme music of WOR <the one that starts with the blowing wind> hit me pretty badly after I was in WOR for sometime, it's just depressing, and sad... It even made me stop playing for a while : X |

Bollocks to spoilers. It should be a given that there's gonna be bloody spoilers. Consider that yer warning.
Anyway, one particular moment that really caught me was when the brothers came back to the castle and reminisced. The scene in particular when they chatted up while sitting on the thrones I found remarkably...subtle for a video game. And the self help comment had me laughing till I started hurting the first time I heard it. -------------------- |

I will have to agree with karasuman as to Locke hurling over the side of the ship, and I would say 'Spoony Bard'm but its the wrong game (classic enough of a scene that I feel it deserves mention)
And, also when Terra leaves the town, where all the kids call her mommy. Thats one of my favorites. And, not really a scene, just the way I play the game, but watching Locke swing the Atma Weapon and something else 8 times. -------------------- Fierce Legends Software Battle Designer Fierce Legends Software Website Fierce Legends Software Forums Please post in our forums; we are in need of help and input as we develop the Final Fantasy VI Prequel. |
