This is it. E3 is here. Tomorrow morning, thousands of people will be playing Next-Gen games. The Rev will be shown in the morning. The 360 is already shown, and here are pics of the "REAL" PS3.

The PS3 is looking a lot better than the X-Box 360 because of that heck of a game lineup. Random comments: It uses a computer power cable? Nice! I got like 5 of those. tongue.gif But... you still gotta turn on the system to remove a game? What a bummer. The motor that accepts and spits out CDs can mess up too. A PS1 and PS2 slimline style mechanical pop open CD door is more user friendly, even if it does seem cheap. Heh. Performance wise the PS3 is a worthwhile upgrade over the PS2 since PS2 graphics are clearly dated. Those games are really what makes this system look good though. Also those are much better screenshots than what has been shown by Microsoft so far.

Now let's see if Nintendo can beat all that, and let's see what else will be shown this E3!

Ooh, excitement!

None of the launch titles appeal to me, but that's usually the case. I'll wait until there's a game I really want to buy the machine.

It's kinda sad that they aren't remaking FFVII, after all.

I'll hafta look more into the specs, but those images don't look too impressive to be honest. They look like xbox games with more texture memory and bigger polygon counts. Nothing new, just more of the same...litterally. It's the same, just more of it.

I'm not surprised really. With each new next gen system, the improvements have become more and more evolutionary rather than revolutionary. Like I said, I'll hafta look into it, but from an audio/visual standpoint, I think we've hit the ceiling. The next step will be online and other not-so-obvious technological leaps and how that will be handled. Gonna hafta check that out.

Killzone... that had better be Killzone 2. I played the original, and it was good, but it's a wee bit too soon for a remake. Looks okay to me.

This is deja-vu. Xbox 360 looked very disinteresting, nothing new, nothing special, but a prettier actual console powerbase, the same with PS3, except it has something of signficant value to offer me. Launch games are typically dissapointing just like with Xbox...

Ho hum. Come the Revolution let's hope it's not the same old story or they'll all be up against the wall*.

*TRANSLATION- Nintendo's one had better be focuisng more on gameplay that the shinies.

EDIT: At least it's not a Space Toaster!

I'm not too excited really. The controllers look unusable, the console is ugly, the games look like they'll give me a headache, I can't be dealing with that high a resolution. Games around the era of System Shock 2 were about perfect for me, things are getting out of hand now. Bleh, I'm sure that'll all change release time, and I'll be swept along with the next-gen wave like there never was a 32-bit era...

Del; I'm sure that is Killzone 2, I have the first one too, I only ever play it in 2UP, and that gets boring, since theres only, like, 6 multiplayer maps, and maybe 3 GOOD ones.

One thing I am wondering about the Sony machine though, are they going to lie to us, again? With the internet gaming thing? My memory is not that short, I STILL remember the PS2 being announced, I remember they HDD and Ethernet adapter being fully supported, I remember them being dedicated to creating a online service with servers and downloads and full intergration, it was gonna reinvent the internet for a gaming market.

... They lied. A Microsoft reeped the benefits.

Don't do it again Sony.

I think Sony knows now that without that feature, they'd be doomed, no matter how pretty their graphics engine is. It WILL be online.

I don't think that that's necessarily true. Didn't the PS2 do well without all of those bells and whistles? If Microsoft already has the online market, I think it makes more sense for Sony to concentrate elsewhere.

Can I ask what the hell is with the rounded edges??? Why would I lay it on it's side if I can't stack anything on top of it!? A talented designer makes things aesthetical pleasing and functional. Anyway I'm looking forward to the PS3. Backwards capatability means it will be a one stop shop for the majority of my console gaming needs.

Now tell me that doesn't look like a silver Batarang. I imagine it ought to hold about as easily as the typical controllers, and if it's thinner then that's awesome (I'll finally be able to use my "draw the index finger down so it's on the circle button" technique that I've been unable to use comfortably since the SNES days). I'll probably wait a long time to get one, but if it has Soul Calibur and Devil May Cry exclusive to it then I might have to make it my first nextgen system. But come on, doesn't it look like a Batarang?

I remember the night that Sony revealed the PS3. I spent four hours on the PS3 Board at GFAQs. Mock-ups kept flowing in...and the best one was one that was a pic of the George Foreman Grill with a plastic boomerang next to it. Priceless.

Now I get to play Batman whenever I play my games!
Yay!

To me, that looks alittle awkward, especially with the placement of the 'action' buttons. I've no doubt it'll be easy to pick up, but... the angle they lay at. It looks like the 'O' button might be slightly more of a stretch than I'm used to, the same with the shoulder buttons.

Of course, I'm just nitpicking. It looks to be a perfectly useable, if alittle different, controller.

I don't like the look of it, mind. Batarangesque.
