I was wondering if anyone played this game before? i think its better then FFT
![]() Instead of having a grid system it has a free movement system, you start off very with very few "phatoms (classes)" but you can unlock many more. as for the battle system in order to summon a phatom you have to cofine it to an object, most objects have bonus and negatives to thier stats (i.e. a rock gives defence bonus and minor attack and resistance but greatly lowered speed) and since you only have X (4-9 rounds most being 4-6)turns to use em, you have to think ahead. you create your own shops with phatoms there is no "town" but a merchent phatom lets buy and sell things, a healer heals your men for a price there may be more but i only just started playing the game I really like the game it has a story line that is great the music is alright, though the voices in english are annoying (or maybe its just my hatred for dubbed anime since subbed is so much better XD) the voices sound good in japenease. if you liked FFT i highly suggest playing this ![]() -------------------- procastinate now, dont put it off |

I wouldn't say it tops Final Fantasy Tactics, but as it stands right now, I enjoy it much more than Disgaea. The weapon possibilities, character-merging, refining, and proficiency-upping is what captivates me, even though the formula Nippon Ichi uses isn't that "new", so to speak.
The version of PB I bought came with a bonus soundtrack disc, but it wasn't that interesting. The voice are boring/annoying, as you've said, and so it just ends up as a job for the mute button. Not that it takes away from anything; you can still hear the voices when you read the text. What weapon do you use the most often? I have Marona equipped with a tree with a bunch of status effect skills (Ritual, Dark Sleep, Stun Rod) and, on her, I have the Return command and high-leveled Mana Monger and EXP Riser skills. -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

this game sounds kind of cool if I can ask, what system is it for or is it for the PC.

it's just PS2. From what I've heard and played, I like Disgaea more (keep in mind I don't own either), but all of Nippon Ichi's recent strategy games are solid.

I still think La Pucelle and Disgaea are better, but Phantom Brave does have a very cute lil' story. It needs a new game+ though ¬¬
Personally I'm up to Baal, he is not an easy bunny (uh, mushroom). -------------------- The Arcana are the means by which ALL is revealed. |

Phantom Brave annoys me because it dosen't have enough consistancy. I admit it is an enjoyable game, but the whole "summons only" thing starts to wear on me, and the story lacks depth. Oh, and the music makes me sick (literally).
Oh, and it definetly is NOT better than FFT. I consider that heresy. This post has been edited by ArcnightDelita on 29th May 2005 18:20 |
