Have any of you played this game?
I've been only mildly curious about these Lego brand games since they started comming out. First there were the Bionicle games, which I considered purchasing for my son who loves the Bionicle movies, but I figured Lego wasn't a game maker, they were a toy maker... and thus I should steer clear. Then there's the Lgo racing games, which seemed to have the neat idea of building your own car from any blocks you wanted. I passed again. But now, there's Lego Star Wars. It encompasses all of Episode I, II, and III, and has tons of characters you can unlock and play as. It seems to be pretty decent, from the reviews I've read and such. Plus, Star Wars has recently replaced Spiderman as my son's favorite "thing". So..... any of you played it or know if it would be a good buy for a father-son playalong? ![]() -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

Hm... I believe Del or Caz mentioned it in chat and said that it was amusing.
The only Lego series games I played where the "Racers", and those, I must say, where incredibly playable and fun. I could spend hours just making the car. But then again - that's me. Anyway I think you could give it a shot. ![]() -------------------- "I fell off the mountain of words at around the 10,000ft mark. I read some reviews on this too. Apparantly it's great fun but it's not exactly long. Sounds about right for this sort of game. So you'll complete it quite quickly. It's nice to have a co-op mode in these games. Looks fun.

I'm thinking rental to see if Hunter likes it.... if he does, maybe I'll go ahead and buy it. Read some more reviews on it this morning, and it seems pretty neat.

Yep. This game's built for what you have in mind basically. The drop-in/drop-out thing it has for multiplay is fairly nice, and it's also a fun game. Rent it if you like to try it out, but I'm failry sure you'll enjoy it and your son ought to as well. It's kind of simplistic, obviously, but then again, it's aimed at people under 12 , and in the process becomes a good type of game: More about fun than graphics.

To make my reply as short as possible:
If u'll ever want to die in this game, you'll have to try real hard.... At difficulty setting hard you'll find the game easier than solitaire ![]() -------------------- Here lies a great and mighty king, Whose promise none relies on, He never said a foolish thing, Nor ever did a wise one. of Charles V |

I've played it and, I liked it alot. It's great for kids because it isn't hard at all. When you die it reminds me of an old NES game where the characters die and then come right back and their body is flashing, and you have unlimited lives (if I remember right) so it shouldn't be a problem for a young child to get through it, but it isn't long so if you're just looking to get it and beat it then I would rent it because it can be beaten in a few hours.
