My biggest vendetta is against FFVIII, but that’s just personal
Otherwise..... Parodius (any variation of) - delightfully mad and infuriatingly difficult ( especially whilst drinking ) Ikaruga - ditto above, but not as mad Chu chu rocket - this drives me insane, but I only have myself to blame for picking it up and playing it. The annoying thing is that I keep forgetting how irritating it can be, and find myself thinking 'oooh chu chu rocket, haven't played that in a while'. Then play it. Get annoyed. Stop. Forget. Repeat ad infinitum. -------------------- oooooooOOO you guys'll like this http://cgi2.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?...46477&items=250 |

A game that really pissed me off (on of the worst seires I have ever played) is the Sims, Damn, it was just stupid and pointless, I still don't get how it sells so well. I mainly didn't like it.

i think the sims sell so well because it's the only com-letely freeform game on the market right now. u get to choose the job of your sim, appearance, social standing, friends, everything. i'd say the best way to explain it is to say that it's sorta an offline single player MMORPG.

Oh, the Sims. That game really gets to me. It doesn't anger me, but the concept behind it annoys me. You sit at the computer doing what you would be doing if you weren't sitting at the computer.

Anyone ever play an arcade game called TOKI? You're a caveman that gets turned into a chimp and you have to rescue your girl from the evil wizard thing...
Ludicrously hard. Especially once you get to the final level and you're no longer allowed to continue. -------------------- |

The most difficult task in any game I've ever played was defeating Orochi Iori in King of Fighters '97. Other games that really got my goat in the worst way were Fire Emblem 6 (ROM), for being so difficult while I refused to let a single character fall, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, for having fifty levels that never got easier (I think I only got to somewhere in the late 30s), and every single game in the Bloody Roar series, which get really hard in the high difficulty levels while offering no degree of skill involved thanks to the inane control scheme's lack of sensitivity. BR is one of those games where the better masher always wins.

Golden Sun: The Lost Age
One of my favorite games, but like Wild ARMS 3, it was practically impossible without a guide, and even with one, it still took forever...Games should be required to tell you where to go next, and Golden Sun: The Lost Age is the master of doing the exact opposite of this ![]() -------------------- ~ Aurora, exhale bloody air! I used to throw tantrums while playing online games due to either computer problems or a vendetta against a fellow player or a combination of the two.

2D fighters.
I love those games, but when you play against a machine, the enemy will react flawlessly at exactly the same moment you make your move. I like playing online games, playing against other people when you can't be with your mates is great. But I do have a full-time job. So I don't want to play against people who don't, who are playing this game online, all day long. Because I will lose - guaranteed. It's obvious.
I don't mind losing and I don't mind playing against people better than me. But I would like these games to sort out a system where they can take people's skill into consideration and then match them up. This would make me far less annoyed. At least I would have a chance. And I hope these people don't serioulsy enjoy crushing every single opponent they come across with there being no challenge whatsoever, because that's even worse than constantly losing, trust me, lol. Anyhow I think i will generally only play online games against people I know from now on because of this, as I don't think the system I suggested will be made any time soon. -------------------- 'Let that be a lesson to all oppressive vegetable sellers.' |

"The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages" makes me pretty mad. Some of the mini-games are just infuriating, but you have to do them to progress in the plot...
"Grand Theft Auto II" really frustrates me because it doesn't seem to have an in-game map beyond the inset, and I can never figure out where to go. "Castlevanie: Circle of the Moon" gets very hard, very fast, about halfway through the game. Healing items are practically nonexistant. Major suck. -------------------- Veni, vidi, dormivi. |

1. Ghosts 'n' Goblins (NES)
2. Castlevania (NES) For those of you who've played Castlevania 1 for NES, think of a game light-years harder and (how much worse could it be?) graphically crappier than Cv1. Oh... Possible spoilers: highlight to view and you have to play through the game ONE MORE TIME to beat it and get a crappy ending. GnG is an absolute horror--not that it's really a scary game, but that it's so badly designed, it's like torture to have to play through it--even WITH abundant cheating via savestates, and just one time through. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. Ugh, in Super Mario Sunshine there is this puff level where you have to jump up on top of puffy things to get the 8 red coins. Oh yeah, and if you fell from them, you lose. You can only use the rocket nozzle in that level, which shoots you blindly 20 feet in the air. I hated that level.

I think I have gotten frustrated with just about every game at one point or another, but one that sticks out in my mind is a certain Call of Duty level where you have to hold a bridge for 5 to 10 minutes. Now add the hardest difficulty setting to the game and volia!

As a very calm and patient person [and a devout zelda fan] it would have to be stated then that majora's Mask is the ultimate in annoyance. The temples [the whole 3 of them] were way too tedious, and the music was obnoxious. And having to always go back in time and start everything all over again because you couldn't do it the first 27 times made me so angry. the kids next door would constantly ask me to come over and help them with all sorts of games they were stuck on, and this was the only one i ever said no too. they hate the game too.

Counter-Strike: Have any of you guys seen FPS Doug? Well him flipping out is me when this game is mentioned.
Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield: This game is the bane of my existance. The Sims: The only enjoyment I get from this game is making my sims die. I'm sorry, but worring about my avatar pee his pants just isn't fun. Plus, when my highly successful guy died from the disease of hampsters, I quit. TES 3: Morrowind: I love this game so much. I just hate the addiction. I have lost countless hours of my life to it. In 2003, the months from June to August dissappeared playing this game. Neverwinter Nights: See above. Except that I do this during the school year and watch my grades go down the toilet. -------------------- "The only difference between a crazy man and a hero is that the hero succeeds in what he sets out to do." Welcome to the fancily layed out list of games that piss Ronin off! 1) Any sports game, or even sports in general. I simply cannot fathom why people can sit for hours in front of a tv with their fat asses glued to the sofa watching teams of people pass a ball back and forth. I'd imagine that the excitement would wear off after 3 or 4 games, but people waste their times on this stuff for YEARS! These are the same people that watch movies for the explosions and the sex scenes. It's for this reason that I like to find excuses to impede the view of someone trying to watch sports. 2) Mind numbing, idiotic point and click first person shooters. (Halo, for example.) This falls under the same category as before, you run around, you shoot so called 'innovative' AI's, and then eventually die or win the game. The only entertainment value lies in the cutscenes, where there's usually very little character development or anything that's remotely interesting altogether. (Interesting games such as Thief 1, 2, and Deadly Shadows do not count. In fact, they rock beyond all reconing.) 3) Cheezeball plots in games such as Final Fantasy V and X-2. Don't even get me started on 5. There were so many times I wish I could torture and destroy my characters that I could just die. (Yet I trudged through the game anyway, mostly because the class system was decent and I wanted to get it over with so I could say I've beaten every FF.) Final Fantasy 5 is one of those games you could make a hilarious drinking game out of, and most people would probably agree. Example: - Take one sip every time Lenna nearly kills herself trying to save a dragon. - Take one sip every time Cara and/or her cute little friends come to the rescue at the very last minute. - Take one sip every time the party has to hold Faris back as she screams "NOOO" and Syldra floats off to his/her death, only to reappear again later to save the day and die again. Even these simple three would get the average heavyweight sloshed within the first hour of play. It's rediculous. 4) Any game that's based off of a movie. Alright everyone, I'm sure that we can all agree that these games are often the worst games money can buy. There are a few exceptions, but they have to throw those out there every once in a while, or else you'd assume that ALL movie based games suck. This way the companies will ensure that you'll buy the game just to make sure it's not one of the games that don't suck. Clever no? 5) The list goes on, really, I'm extremely picky about my games. Among my list of terrible games are Devil May Cry, Grand Turizmo (however it's spelled) any racing game, really, games aimed to stimulate the neanderthaul male's sex drive, anything that has to do with Barney, Barbie, or other overly cute/happy games. ~Ronin~ -------------------- "Some fight for justice.
